well I am now 15 invites to 20 rejections to 2 official wait lists and about 20 heard nothing

strangely I got most of my invites prior to my deans letter and most the rejections afterward....

Rejections: NYU/Bellevue, Denver, Vandy, UA, Emory, Duke, Pittsburgh, Conn, Northwestern, Louisville, East Virginia, Allegheny, Georgetown, Southern Fl

Official Waits: Jacksonville, Thomas Jefferson

I got the same emails. I wouldn't worry about it. Funny story time! I applied to UNC for med school, and was rejected in December-ish. Then I got a "Oh haha! Sorry we didn't mean that! Please come interview!" letter. So I interviewed. And then was rejected. And a few months later, I was rejected again. 3 rejections in one application cycle all from the same place.
 
I wasn't scheduled or waitlisted at UNC, so I think the mass email may be prophetic for me. She did send an "Ignore this" email recently.
So maybe I'll get rejected twice by them after all.
 
I finally received my rejection from NY Presby. The funny thing is that it was sent yesterday and I was notified by my monthly "quarantied" folder in my email. It's nice to see that my email was tring to protect me from the hurt. But I reminded my email that I rejected all NY programs prior to this. So let me repeat...NY PRESBY, I REJECT YOU! 😛

ps...I'm now 22/6, with 3 more to hear from and 1 waitlist (Come on Christ!)

Don't worry, I got the same thing and received the same reply about the mass rejection email being a mistake.. No worries if you already have an interview there.
 
I got the same 2 emails from UNC, luckily I opened the second one that had the correction or else I would have freaked out.

Jax did the same thing a few weeks ago, I actually called them and it seemed like the coordinator had already been bombarded with other calls because they were freaked out they lost their interview. They sent out 2 corrections emails after that. I bet it happened at UNC too.
 
Rejected from Christ today. Haven't received much love from the Chicago area schools. 24:6 now for the record.

Oh man...this is one I'm fearing being rejected from. I really like this program and it's the only one left I really want. I've emailed them twice, to find out my status and to update my Step 2 scores.
 
Interviews: Jefferson, Orlando, USF, ECU, Maryland
Rejections: Indy, Pitt, Emory, Wake, UF-jax

still waiting: Christina, Carolinas, Einstein, Upenn, East VA, UVA

not sure: UNC got the rejection then the just kidding email set. I called and emailed with no reponse either way from there about my actual status

is it too late to start adding a few more programs.....cause I am getting kinda nervous. and by that I mean completely freaked out.

Any thoughts on whether taking a year off could have hurt my chances. I had a good step I score and good clinical grades. I decided to take a year off between 3rd and 4th year and move to New Zealand. I had met some amazing Aussies/Kiwis on a previous trip to Europe and the idea living and working in another country seemed like a great idea, plus getting to see Australia/New Zealand and Fiji was a nice perk. But now i am wondering if it has hurt my chances with some of the programs.

any thoughts from students who may be in similar circumstances or any selection commitee members who want to weigh in......

why would anyone need 22 interviews.. K'mon! Do u actually get to interview at all of them? :scared:

Haha...chill. That's the total I've gotten, but if you check the cancellation thread, I've done my part in freeing up plenty of slots. I am planning on interviewing at 14 though, because some of the places I have are on the more competitive end.

Haha...I wonder if it's the same place I'm thinking of. Either way, after interviewing at said place, I no longer care if I don't get that last interview I was hoping for.

Probably so. In and out burger EM program put on a go show on interview day and it is definitely top of my list. 😛
 
GWU today. 22/7 with 2 left and 1 waitlist.

And yes...In and Out had a great showing! Definitely my top choice!
 
In and Out today. I'm bummed! I really wanted to check it out. Clearly the most highly ranked residency on SDN.
 
For some reason today was very active on ERAS....

Got waitlist note from Brown, rejections from UNC and GW. Random!
 
U Chicago, UNC, GWU all said no thanks within the last few days. Oh and I think I got Henry Ford (EM/IM) somewhere back in there as well.

I haven't found my happy place yet, but I'm beginning to find my burnt out place and I don't think I can imagine doing more interviews than I already have scheduled at this point.
 
Got the second rejection from UNC yesterday. Gee, if they reject me one more time it'll be just like the year I applied to med school. 🙄

A bit bitter b/c not only am I an NC girl, but UNC is my undergrad and Chapel Hill is my freakin' hometown. I worked at the hospital, in the ED. NO LOVE.
 
Got it yesterday. I know my slow and steady adding of rejections to this thread has served primarily to post pad this thread, but it some regards it feels good to announce out loud those programs that weren't interested in having me as a resident. It's like the airing of the greivances at Festivus!
 
That one hurt, I really wanted it. Oh well.
 
Not sure if I feel special or not. I only got rejected by UNC once.

I liked how UNC sent me a rejection about a month after I declined their offer. Apparently they really wanted to have the last word.

Mount Sinai a few days ago...again wondering why i even bothered applying to NY programs seeing it's expensive as hell to live there.

Given the fact that it's January, I pretty much figured any place I haven't heard from is a rejection, but they confirmed theirs...

After bugging the program countless times, my husband got an interview at UNC (in EM). We're couple's matching (me, FM). There is still hope : Persistence is key. 🙂
 
We just got a few cancellations so a few waitlisted, etc are going to be sent out from NY, in case anyone is waiting.. indeed, spots will be freeing up so be persistant

I've lost count at this point. 14 on the good side though.
 
Probably for the best, no time left in my schedule. I am happy with my choices now.

Just got rejected from Yale today. Let's see...it's January 18. Really wasn't expecting an interview invite at this point, and probably wouldn't have gone even if they had sent me an offer.
