Welcome to the forums.

You should strive to get 150 hours of food bank experience before applying (which I'm sure will be difficult now). Teaching piano doesn't really address the basic needs of the underprivileged youth you are teaching, even though I appreciate the importance of music.

You are very research heavy, so is there a reason why you won't go for a research direction?

Is your involvement in EMT your ONLY leadership experience?

You should accumulate 150+ hours at the food bank before you submit your application. Otherwise, you could be screened out at some schools.
I suggest these schools with your stats:
U Maryland
West Virginia
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Tech
George Washington
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Penn State
Hackensack
Hofstra
New York Medical College
Albany
Rochester
Vermont
Quinnipiac
UMass
Tufts
Wake Forest
NOVA MD
USF Morsani
Miami
TCU
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Western Michigan
Oakland Beaumont
Iowa
Loma Linda
Belmont

Thanks for the feedback.

I’m planning to get more food bank hours in, though I probably won’t hit 150. I think I’ll be closer to 60 by the time I apply. Hopefully the consistency and intent still counts for something.

I’ve enjoyed being part of research, especially in my current role, but I’ve found that I’m more drawn to the clinical side. Interacting with patients has been the most meaningful part of my experience so far. I’d really like to become a physician first and find ways to stay involved in research on the side.

For leadership, outside of working as an EMT, I’ve mentored newer research assistants in my lab and helped them get started on their projects. That’s about it—nothing too big in terms of clubs or formal leadership roles.

How do you think this should change my school list?

Thank you! I'll definitely look into these schools and take this into consideration!
