So I am currently a sophomore who transferred to another university. A lot of my credits didn’t transfer/I didn’t do well in a couple of classes so I’m in as a true “first year” for this year. So, I’m in my second year of college but I’m actually a first year at this point because of credit stuff. I’m trying to get into PA/med school. Assuming I do better these few years, will it impact getting accepting to a PA/med school? Thanks.

Your total number of credits doesn’t matter. I have like 150 credits just cuz I was able to take more classes for free in a semester. Get good grades and a degree, that’s all that matters.

Med schools wont hold that against you if you turn things around. I would not. Just get your study habits cleaned up and make yourself a great applicant with a competetive GPA, MCAT, letters and ECs. Good luck and best wishes

Taking longer to get your degree won't have a negative impact. But all transcripts from colleges attended must be submitted to the med school application service, so those early grades that aren't included in your current school's GPA will be included in your application GPA, as calculated by the policies of AMCAS, AACOMAS, or TMDSAS. All med schools do value an upward grade trend though, and your year-by-year GPAs will be visible to demonstrate that. [Note that 4th and 5th year senior status will be grouped together, no matter how many credits it includes.]
