Other Residency, graduation

To start a residency, should you get the official pharmD degree before start date or is it okay if I get it later than start date (although i completed requirements, just didnt get the certificate). All requirements say ‘licensed within 90 days’ etc but no one talks about the degree and when the program needs it. Thanks alot
