Hi guys,
Please tell me what are my chances of matching in California for emergency medicine . Which colleges I should apply to with any hope of getting an interview.
I am an IMG with step 1 score 238, step 2 ck score 229, Cs cleared.
Did electives in university of Kentucky in EMD,
Boston Medical Center and at UNC. I think I will get good LORs.
No published research but worked as a research assistant.
Volunteered as an assistant in a mortuary.

Are you a US citizen?
Of US IMG's, 72 applicants matched in EM somewhere. 76 did not.

With your Step 1 score, 26 US IMG's matched, 12 did not (see page 74).

There is no CA specific data for IMG's.

Probably near 0%. Most CA EM programs won’t even interview IMGs let alone match them. The best way to check is to go to the residency websites and look where all their residents graduated from for medical school. Prepare to see mostly CA and Ivy League though.
