Residency required for compounding?

Hi guys!

I'm still in my early years of pharmacy school and I've been thinking a lot about compounding. Does compounding pharmacists require residency? Also, will residency help me give me higher chance of getting a job compared to those that just graduate from pharmacy school?

No, residency is not required for a compounding job and if you do a pharmacy practice residency, you most likely will get little to no compounding experiences. I'm not exactly sure of the route to go for compounding jobs but I think the best thing to do is probably get an internship in a compounding pharmacy, ask to shadow, etc.
