Sup all, I plan on taking the oat next october and am in the process of retaking all those classes i got C's in. Is this a good idea? I graduated from the University of illinois c/u this past year with a 3.0 gpa. Im hopin i can get that gpa to a 3.3 by the end of this year. Also, does the admissions comittee look at your last 45 hours or so of course work as a gauge of improvement? The classes im retaking are chemII, physics I,II, and 2nd semester of bio.

You may want to call some of the admissions offices and ask them. If I were them I would think, "Well, he got a C the first time...I would hope he could get a better grade by taking it again." I would suggest you take new classes, some upper level ones. That would impress me more than a college graduate (I assume a bio degree) retaking bio II and getting an A. Take Genetics, Parasitology, Neuroanatomy, Biochemistry... You probably took some of the those already, but you get my point.

if you want to impress them, take the highest level neuro or physics courses offered. that'll show em you're smart
