i have a question for those of you that received the email about the unranked waitlist...was this in response to you asking for a status update or did they just send this to you without you requesting more information about your file?

To throw things a little more of whack I had received the email without asking for any status updates. I asked for one about 2 weeks ago but RFU never bothered to get back to me; highly doubt the two events have any correlation.

So the new general consensus is that this unranked waitlist is basically meaningless; which is what it should be. How/why have a waitlist if it is unranked? I guess they just realized hey we should get back to our applicants eventually. So now that we have not been accepted or rejected, we stand on this fake waitlist until they formulate the real one.

As a side note- I am really getting sick and tired of waiting for these guys. I have an acceptance at midwestern and day by day I get excited at the prospect of starting my medical education there. On the same hand I have been reluctant to find housing and do many other things (fin aid, immunizations) as i wait for other school(s) to get back to me.
if i were accepted, and it was transferable, DrV i would overnight my accpetance letter to you.

haha heston i feel your pain believe me....

if it takes them two weeks to get back to me about the status update i may go crazy. even more, if their reply is as vague or more vague than the ones that you have gotten regarding the unranked waitlist, I may also lose my mind.

hopefully though someone will have an actual idea about what's going on by the end of the week. it is entirely possible that they have done away with the ranked list, or that they just won't talk to us about the rankings. never really know with these people.

I just talked with Morgandi. She told me I was on this non ranked waitlist. So....my guess is, if you haven't heard from anyone and you think you're in this so called nonwaitlist, I believe you're actually on this non ranked waitlist. It actually makes sense because it just DID NOT make sense to be on a waitlist for a waitlist if that makes any sense.

Don't talk to Lolita. She's very nice, but I don't think she knows what's going on. Give Morgandi a call. Her number is 847-578-3207. Good luck guys!

P.S. Should I write another LOI? Nothing much has changed except the fact that I quit one of my jobs and the other one is running out of funding as of this month. What should I do? Start volunteering at a hospital really quickly and then write this LOI? Hahah.

Otherwise, you are put into the pool of all interviewees.
Recently, the committee met and reviewed this pool.
Some acceptances were sent out.
If we didn't receive an acceptance, we remain in this pool until we are accepted or rejected (by Aug. 8th).
This pool is now called the "unranked waitlist," probably because we have contacted them so many times they HAVE to give us something new.

I sent an email for a status check Tuesday morning, and they never replied, so I tried calling them yesterday morning. In the afternoon, I got the unranked waitlist email. Today, I got another copy of the waitlist email, and one minute later the same email again, as a reply to my original email request.
