Movie was great. I thought it was better than Oceans 12.
 
Since Ocean's 12 was one of the worse movies I have ever seen, so 13 could only be better. Although, I did enjoyed Ocean's 11.

Yes, Ocean's 12 was pretty lame. Remember that part where they have Julia Roberts come in and act like Julia Roberts. Wow. Could it get any worse?

Thanks for the support; I feel better. I wasn't sure if that post was going to go through, but I'm kind of glad it did. I shut down my browser as it was loading cause I thought I was being a bit immature. It was late. I was feeling sad and jealous.

I haven't posted much but I put a few things out there, most recently encouraging ya'll to rewrite your p.s. as I think it looks bad if they see you are using the same one. I heard committees have people that specifically look for that sort of thing. It could also help you refine your articulation of motivation.

For those around Chicago, have any of you thought about applying to the Masters of Medical Science program at Loyola? I know it's pricey but the program is designed to get you into medical school. It's pretty new but I think they have had good success with their graduates. That might be my plan B. Application deadline is July 1st. You could find more info on LUC's website. Peace,

I'll ask this question on here, too, since I know that a couple of you guys are applying the RFU's BMS program (Heston, DVN).

They won't tell me if my file is complete for the BMS application. All we needed to do if we applied to RFU for the M.D. program was send in the app. with the fee, right? They said they could transfer our letters and transcripts?

SDN sure seems to die down over the weekend. Good for you guys. 👍 All I've got going on is re-drafting my personal statement...

I wanted to thank you for the ps advice. I think you're right. I kind of knew that I really should rewrite mine anyways to reapply, but seeing someone else post it helped give me motivation to work on it. At this point, I'm so tired and beaten from this process that it's just tempting to pop in the old PS and just click "submit".
I'll get back to work now.😳

You know we 😍 ya. We are one big happy family! Also, all of us feel pretty low, so you aren't alone. The last thing you want to do is be depressed alone. At least we have each other. Ok, it is time to stop being a damn Hallmark card.

I hear the LUC program is pretty good. I don't have any numbers on it though..

its super nice that people post this up for us. this is only the sdn population, and those on sdn that know this thread even exists. optimist says, alot more people then represented on sdn are withdrawing as well. I mean, they have to, you don't pull off 15% of your class from the waitlist for no reason.

You are welcome. I appreciate the feedback. I'm not really psyched about it either and I know how you feel. Sometimes it's hard to find the energy but I think we have to keep moving forward.

Anyways, what's one more year? I feel better when I look at things from relativistic point of view. I'm just happy to have my health and the opportunity to apply again. Everyone I know in the field tells me if you want it bad enough, you can make it happen. It may take more time or require comprimises.

I think it is easy to get caught up in comparing myself to everyone else on SDN and you just can't do that to yourself. Life IS good. Warm regards,

DVN,

I think a lot of us have felt that way. I think the best thing to do is channel your energy into continuing to strengthen your application, be it more shadowing, volunteering, or taking a class. That way, you know you are doing something about it. Also, for schools like CMS, we can keep sending updates. So we've got that going for us, which is nice. Chin up,

I got that waitlist/15% type email last week. Congrats JCCripe on getting in, maybe we can go watch Big Ten games together next year when the Hoosiers wipe the floor with the Boilers. How did everyone feel about the Sopranos ending? Personally, I thought Chase screwed me over with it, although that episode was damn good.

:hello: Hey everybody! I just logged on to SDN and started following this thread a few days ago. I am accepted at RFU for 2011 and wanted to join the fun on the forum.

I am signed up for the student apartments on campus, anyone else? I heard they are fairly new and nice. I'm rooming blind for a double. I figured I would be spending a lot of time studying there and could use some company (plus it is much more affordable!)

I am thinking about back up to RFU soon to check out the campus again since I don't remember much from October... the schools/interviews all seem to have run together! I'm pretty into fitness/athletics, does anyone remember what their facility looked like?

I hope to get to know all of you over the summer and have a great M1!

I'm the community manager for one of the housing buildings on campus (101) both last year and this upcoming year. The apartments were built only 5 years ago so they are fairly new and in great condition. In addition, I think it is good to be surrounded by other students as it increases your resources. So I don't think anybody living there will be disappointed.

I also use the workout facility 5-6 times and for the size of the school I think it is pretty nice. a few treadmils and ellipticals (almost never full) full rack of dumbells 5-100lbs, bench, decline bench, 3 adjustable seats for diff dumbell workouts, pullup bar, dip bar, leg press, leg curl, pec deck, leg extention, leg ab/adduction,2 pillates balls balance board, punching bag (no speed bag 🙁)

I am sure I am forgetting some other stuff. It's not a club gym, but it is everything I, and most other people need.
