I accepted an amazing research job at KU SOM last week, and I'm getting things ready to move. I was out today running a couple of errands, and I came home, put my lunch in the microwave and went upstairs to check my email.

I had two emails in my inbox from CMS (one from Financial Aid, and another "Welcome to CMS"). I thought it was really strange because I hadn't received a phone call. So I screamed a little bit, then called to check if it was a mistake or not. In grand RFU tradition, it still took me like, twenty minutes to get through, but Lolita said that it wasn't! I totally burst into tears. I'm in! I'm going to medical school!!!!

Hey I am new to this thread...but I was recently accepted two weeks ago at RFU and now im going through the grind of looking for housing...Is there anyone on here who is accepted looking for a roommate? Please let me know..thanks and good luck to everyone on here!

hey I just got in yesterday and am currently looking for a place to live as well, I wouldn't mind having a roommate.(maybe in a two bedroom apartment )

June 20, 2007--dvn failure status still holds true. Looks like SDN is doing well so far
 
Don't worry DrV no news is still good news.

i got a beaUtiful rejection letter today from uic. post-interview. my first post-interview rejection thus far... wtf uic.

Hang in there, DrV and everybody else... it really does happen when you stop expecting it. I was all geared up for a move to Kansas City, going to look for apartments in a few days.

BTW, I wasn't sure if I had ever posted my stats, but here they are:
GPA: 3.45 (3.25 BCPM) MCAT: 31R (9V, 10BS, 12PS)
Biochemistry major, minors in chemistry and rural sociology

I had a pre-existing celebration yesterday, in every sense of the word. I had plans to get ice cream with my favorite aunt in the afternoon, and then tickets (of sorts, it's a long story) to the Ben Folds/John Mayer concert in St. Louis. Today, I'm back to Columbia with a lot to do. I'm nannying through July 2nd, which I committed to when I was still worrying about paying July rent.

I imagine that there will be some kind of "Goodbye, Columbia" celebration before I go, with much sampling of food and drink. I think my parents and I are going up to Chi-town on Monday to start looking for places.

Congrats to all who got in recently. summer work has been keeping me relatively busy nowadays thats why I didnt check this thread in two days (which is believe me a long period of time). I think its that time when we all have to start looking at backups and other alternatives... well thats the case atleast for me. Out of curiousity I was wondering if any Canadians had gotten accepted recently? Since I havent heard anything till now I dont think there is much hope for me since it is getting much more difficult as time progresses to have to deal with visa, housing if I were to hear anything.. I am supposing they do somehow factor that in with international students? so not hearing so late in the cycle signals not good news.... in any case good luck to all of you and am hoping for the best for all of you(DVN, Heston, Guju MD and all those loyal thread visitors🙂).

Today my friend from RFU called me up because he wanted to have dinner. When I drove up to RFU, I got this sick feeling in my stomach, can't really describe it, but didn't feel good. When visiting my friend, I couldn't eat or really talk...just kept thinking, of how some of us are sooooo close.

Anyways, today was a rough day. It felt like I was in a dream, but in my dream I knew that it was all fake. I don't know if that makes sense, but just a crappy day. I definitely am not going back to visit friends up there, they can come down to my neck of the woods.
 
its like me driving past UCSD on my way to work everyday. Oh, what could have been. Maybe next week RFU will send us some phone love.
 
I went out to 6 Flags yesterday, and as some of you may know, RFU and buckley road come off of 94 on the way there. So when passing by RFU i was just thinking to myself 🙄/ :meanie:. (as an aside, hurricane harbor is awesome. do go there if you venture out to great america)
Ironically, one day after my uic rejection. Comes 2 more pieces of mail. (1) My orientation packet from mwu (2) Another rejection letter, this time from mcw.
so now its either RFU or bust.
Once 4th of July hits, it's pretty much game over for me. I need to get housing and move forward with my life.
 
I noticed a few people have gotten in off the waitlist. Congrats to all of you.

Does anyone know how the ADCOM is letting people off the list? Are they meeting once a week and then making calls after that? Did those who got off the list get called on Wednesday? I called but got a busy signal so if anyone knows Id appreciate it.

I don't think there is any type of set system, or dates. It seems that people have gotten the phone call on different days of the week. And no regular intervals either. After 2 threads of wondering about how all this works, I think its time to come to the conclusion that somehow, it does work. How, why, when? I don't think we'll ever know. If 3 of us got jobs in the adcom office, I still don't think we'd know.
At this point its just time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. If your phone is meant to ring, you'll hear it... one day.

I seriously think the list is ranked, when someone declines an offer they just go to the list. With all the random days people getting calls.

Also, they could possibly be meeting every 2 weeks to order or look at the next bunch of applicants down the line.

Who knows 😕

It's been a while guys. I've been gone all weekend for a wedding....I have to go to another tomorrow. It never stops.
