That makes no sense. So they tell some people that they're on the waitlist and then tell them again that they are not after reconsideration?

Maybe they haven't finished forming the waitlist. Maybe they only filled out half of the 60 spots and so they need to meet again to finish the rest of the waitlist spots. I think that makes better sense.

Exactly...it makes no sense, the whole proces does not make sense the world does not make sense ahhhhhhhh 😡 😡 😡

Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh God RFU, what are you doing to everyone?
Screw this, I'm going to the Caribbean. Adios.

That was a nice one man....

And the prosecution rests….

I didn't make their "waitlist" either. Who ARE they taking on that list and what kind of stats or butt kissing have you list worthy people achieved?

Ah well....

Come on somebody say something.
The silence is killing me please tell me you called today and got through and have some update.....

I called...didn't make the list either...they said they'd be meeting next week to potentially add 10-15 more people as there are currently about 10-15 people holding on to multiple acceptances on the waitlist. I'm shocked at how the rentention to acceptances is as lot higher this year than previous years...

[FONT=Times New Roman]Well I'm new to your thread but I wanted to tell everyone keep faith! They are a little behind I think. The AP students have not heard either whether they have a seat for next year either. So everyone keep faith!!. 🙂

Doesn't the school "like" start in July? How much time do they expect the late acceptees to have to prepare? ALso it is unfortunate that some people are still holding on to multiple acceptances at this point. They probably are waiting to compare finacial packages between schools before making their decision.

I don't think they're terribly concerned with it. I know they've taken students off of their pseudowaitlist after July 20th before... Life turned upside down in less than a week, that sort of thing.

Does that mean that everyone in the waitlist gets an acceptance ?????
(i.e. are they adding 10-15 spots to waitlist because 10-15 people are holding on to acceptances.)

Well this can mean a couple of things. my guess. They're only generating enough spots to fill those they expect to lose. i.e for students holding acceptances to other schools. Since the number they're adding now is so low, in theory, they could add more rounds of prospective students to the waitlist as it depletes.
(i really don't know that there's anybody on this waitlist at the moment, you'd have thought somebody would have gotten on by now and reported somewhere on sdn).

overall, i'd say waitlist odds look pretty good if you get on.

but then again, they're clearly doing everything different than they've done in years past so this is all speculation.

I can confirm the waitlist exists and is active. I was told this week that I am in the top 10 spots on the waitlist (Interviewed May 10/06). She also told me there were 5 openings, and that the adcom would be meeting next week and phone calls would be made to those accepted and an email to those still on the waitlist. She didn't specify the purpose of the meeting (eg. to rerank or to add more ppl to the list).

Any idea on when this week adcom will be meeting. They said something similar last week.

Anyupdates anyone?

I think it is unfortunate that RFU cannot at least send us an email letting us know whats going on. I hope there is a "how did we do" survey at the end and I'm gonna give em a piece of my mind. Communication is the only thing that kinda keeps us sane and they are torturing us by withholding. They were doing good earlier in the cycle now they just seem a little mixed up. All the news we get is from people calling or just mere speculation. There hasn't been any official news from the school itself. Thats sad. How much does email cost? If anything I think its a lot cheaper than snail mail or answering the 1million calls they prolly get every day.

agreed. I get the vibe that the process is desperately in need of some organizing.

I was actually there a couple days of ago to visit a friend, and the admissions office is being remodeled. I wonder if all the work being done in there has caused some confusion and delays since there work space is at a minimum. Also, only one person was there both times I went. I have a feeling that some of the adcom people may have been on vacation.

I know of people who got in a few days before classes started (so during the orientation). Keep your head up, you guys still have a chance.

Thanks for all the updates...

I understand that construction or remodeling might also be important but couldn’t they have postponed that a bit say one month in fact I would have helped them personally in the remodeling if they had asked (albeit after accepting me).
It's just that the whole thing is so frustrating being in the dark and all. Our life decisions are at stake and there is absolutely no way we can get more information.

I was accepted to AECOM today, so I will be withdrawing today or tomorrow...good luck to waitlisters!

To AECOM? They sent me an email today, and I also received a snail mail letter from them today postmarked Friday, June 9. But RFUMS is supposed to give you a phone call if accepted.

My bad somehow I read AECOM as ADCOM (thought you were refering to the admissions commitee).
Best wishes and good luck 👍

Will somebody PLEASE get this man an acceptance?

I think his head is going to explode.

I called yet again. Unfortunately I still did not get a good answer. Apparently the admissions committee met for the week but did not send out any acceptances??? (confusion confusion confusion)
And as is always the case the committee will meet yet again next week.

I am not giving up but I can't take this any more, what ever will be will be... 🙁
Thanks for all you support fellow SDN'ers I retire...
Good luck and best wishes to all of you.

the dean has to ok any acceptances before they go out and he is on vacation until wednesday of next week.

Therefore no decisions can be official or mailed out until next wednesday

Well. I called. Aparently there's been no change which means I'm still in that un-waitlisted pre-rejection. They told me they'd "finalize the list" next week and then send out rejections.

Did not sound very optimistic. -_-'

any news today? anyone call?

I called and was able to talk with someone (lady) at the admissions office last Wednesday. She said they were hoping to have decisions emailed out by the end of last week (Friday June 16th)???

I didn't receive an email, so I'm thinking they didn't send them out, or I didn't get selected.

Apparently those people who interviewed in May (as I did), were automatically placed in the waitlist pool or pool of applicants without spots.

I guess there were spots that were available for the committee to fill. They were supposed to decide on those last week.

This week when I try to call, all I get is the lady's answering machine. This is very frusterating!! They should at least inform us as to what our chances are. RFUMS starts in 1 month.

Sorry to vent.
Has anyone had a similar experience??

I got ahold of the addmissions office today. They have the final waitlist, and they are mailing it out on friday. You can call and find out if you are on the list. I didn't make it, but I wish the rest of you good luck. At least you can find out a final answer as they won't add any more people.

hey all!

I don't know if I made the list or not, but I did withdraw today. Soooo, if I did make the list, one of you will get my spot, and if I didn't make the list, I guess I avoided getting a nice little rejection letter from them.

I hope the best for all of you waiting. Hang in there!

Any news? Are they going to send us letters letting us know where we are on the wait list? Good luck to everybody....

Well I am back, couldn't resist the temptation.

So how does it work, if you are in the waitlist are you almost guaranteed a spot?
How come the college finalized a list of 60 students just 30 days before the start of classes do they expect to see that much movement?
Any one have any past experience, I mean is there any sense in being in the waitlist or is that just a sham and almost all decisions have been made. Why didn’t the school keep a waitlist of just about 10?
I really don’t want to call until I know there is some hope to it.

Mperor – You seem to know a lot of what is going on internally any thoughts.

Thanks….and good luck.

Quite honestly, no they don't expect to see much movement, but officially there are still a good number of people who have been accepted and havent committed to the school. The waitlist if 1 person who has been accepted doesn't commit, then thats 1 person off the top off the waitlist. The waitlist people arent garunteed a spot, its a waitlist. There will probably be only a few people at this point who are on the waitlist who get an acceptance. But they put so many people on it as a worst case scenario: Say if 15 students with acceptances all decline and the first 15 waitlisters all decline. As unlikely as it sounds, the university wants to keep its bases covered and not end up with open seats and a waitlist that is too short.

Finally the agony is over. I got the "not accepted" letter over the weekend. Now I can turn the page - on to a new chapter.

Good luck to those still waiting.

Thanks Mperor,

I found out that I am in the waitlist but not the top ten. Do you have any idea of what the good number is as in "but officially there are still a good number of people who have been accepted and havent committed to the school."
Can't the schools withdraw acceptances at this point considering that it way past may 15 and the school starts in 1 month.
