i dunno if they actually help write the boards, but there are two big-name pathologists at cms that wrote the board-review series book that most people use to study for the path section of the boards.
about the school having no hospital next door... it doesn't matter. i work with a resident who recently graduated from cms and she told me that there is such a wide range of affiliated hospitals available that you will be very well prepared. she said she was putting in central line after central line and intubating patient after patient at cook county hospital. bottom line - their clinical rotations prepare their students just as well as other schools' rotations, despite the fact that there is not a "rosalind franklin hospital."
