I put in $500, will put in another $500 before May 1. I have a lot of e-mails coming from Isha Webster, such as the area code and cell phone number and all that.

ImNotThatGirl, you're lucky! Beats waiting for 5-6 weeks! I'll see you in September!! :highfive:
And is the next deposit due on May 1st, or is that just your own personal timeline? I've paid the $500 to secure my spot, but haven't gotten notification that the next $500 is due yet.

Its due May 1st. I paid the $1000 in full since I was paying on April 4th. My letter told me that after May 15th is when we should hear about housing etc.

Look forward to seeing ya'll down there! I am really really hoping with my 2 "A"s from this semester that I will be bumped up into the vet class and not have to do vet prep. I just got a 96 on my last O chem test!! SO excited! Class average was a 53.

That's pretty epic. Congrats!

Interviewing with Kevin Niessen on May 3rd...

Today I'm thinking I may enjoy living in the Caribbean rather than state side.

This is making me nervous, as I submitted my application the same day as you. All of my stuff is in and I've not been contacted by anyone...

I would contact admissions for an update. Everyone's really nice there. 🙂 My application officially got completed yesterday. Hoping to hear from them soon!

I sent them an email yesterday asking about the status of one of my pre requisites. They waited until they had all of my transcripts and LORs before they did anything. After I sent the email someone called my house letting me know that my application was complete and that it was selected for an interview. The message said that someone would contact me to schedule an interview- and I got that email today.

Send them an email or try calling them. They were very prompt with returning my emails.

Not to worry - I'm sure you will be just fine!

Oh really? I've only gotten 1 email from Isha, and it was to let me know that they are working to get their May class settle first, and I should hear from them again regarding housing towards the end of april/beginning of may. My coordinator (Bill Bingham) said pretty much the same thing.

Yea.. You'll get bombarded with them.. May class starts in 2 weeks so they're probably preoccupied w/ that right now. Bill's my coordinator too! Very nice and helpful guy. Did they send you the welcome packet?

I agree the admissions people are super nice! Nigel Sirjoo was the one that helped me get everything in line with my app, so today I e-mailed him about my concern about the deposit. He let me know within a few hours that it was received and that Bill Bingham is my coordinator. He said I should be hearing from him soon and getting a welcome packet. I think they are really busy with the May class right now.

The people at Ross are so nice so far. I am really looking forward to going there!

Thanks! I was so excited about it! I have done well in that class. Its amazing how applying yourself gets you further.😛 I only have to get 38 points on the final to end up with an A in the class. I like my odds! 👍 I like O chem. I am sick I know. Its runs in the family, I think, as my Uncle is an organic chemist.

Have you looked at your status on Embark? That's how I found out about my interview first. It took several weeks to actually hear from Ross about the interview/date.

They shut embark down on the 21st for a system upgrade. You cannot access your status page any longer. Now you have to contact admissions to determine the status of your application.

Has to happen now right?

Have you heard anything yet?? I just got an interview invite today!

I had my interview on the 11th of April. My interviewer said I should hear back from them by the middle OR end of May. I think because your 5-6 week mark falls on when the May class is starting it might take a little longer for you to hear something. You can alway contact your interviewer or admissions.

I'm interviewing in SF too! When's your interview date? I'm getting nervous too!

May 4th! very soon!! when is yours?

I know me too! Have you talked to anyone that has had an interview already to provide any helpful information?

I've just been searching this forum for interview questions. It seems like the interview is pretty much like any other vet school interview. Some people have gotten more questions on family/support than behavioral/ethical questions though. I guess we'll see soon enough...eek!

Yea, this was my 2nd time applying to state schools- rejected again. 🙁 First time applying to Ross though. It's usually "Tell me about yourself, Why vet med? Why our school?" and some behavioral ones like "Tell me about a time when..." I've been asked some ethical questions too.

Well hopefully this will be your time!! and there will be no more rejection. This is my first time applying. I have never had an interview, so I am really freaking out. Not sure what it is going to be like; what to wear, what questions will be asked. I am so nervous!!

Don't be nervous, it was really straightforward and casual...like a conversation. I interviewed with Erica Wasserman in Columbus and she basically asked stuff like "tell me about yourself" "why do you want to be a vet?" "why ross?" She noticed that I didn't do so well in Chemistry II, so she asked me about that. She asked if I studied for the GRE. We also talked about living abroad, and I told her about my study abroad that I did in college, and how I love to travel and the personal trips I've taken. Basically, they want to know that you're ready to handle living abroad, the heavy course load, and just basically you as a person.
Be prepared to talk about why you want to be a vet, what lead you to the vet profession, some of your animal/vet experiences, and who you are.😀

Yeah, Bill has been very helpful so far. I received a one page sheet about what to expect and stuff, but not a full-on packet yet. I figure they will probably contact me soon once the May class is set.

Thanks, I hope the interview goes well too! =) And good luck! Don't stress too much! I know it's easier said than done haha. You can ask family and friends to do a mock interview with you. It may help with the anxiety. =)

I still have not heard anything and Admissions has not e-mailed me back.

le sigh....

Do they asked any behavioral based, ethic, or situation-based questions or scenarios?

I got in!! Sept 2011 class, 4 wks after my interview.. So excited to meet everyone congrats to all!

I think my interviewer did ask me one situation-based question. It was something like "what would you do if one of your staff members made a mistake with treating a pet that was not life threatening?"

I said I would let the owner know about the mistake that was made, I would apologize for the mistake and let them know the mistake was not life threatening, and I would let them know the actions that I was taking to prevent this from happening again (such as any disciplinary action for the employee, holding additional trainings or seminars, etc). I would also not charge them for their visit.

Congrats!!👍

We will all have to meet for real when we get down there!😀

Hey everyone! Congrats on getting accepted, I just barely started here at Ross with the may class so we are in orientation right now. I know how stressful getting everything ready can be before you make the big move, but let me know if you have any questions. The island and school are both incredible so you should be very excited and proud to be coming to a university like Ross! Good luck!

Interview today! Wish me luck!

Good luck!! Let us know how it goes! My interview is tomorrow...eeek! And congrats to everyone who's gotten in! Hoping to join you soon :xf::xf::xf:
I think it went pretty well. It was not stressful at all - more like a casual conversation. I am blanking on questions that were asked of me... but they did ask if I could not be a vet what would I do with myself. I say they and I mean he - it was one person. He went over my individual experiences in different vet settings and we discussed them. He also went through all my transcripts - I have an interesting academic past that dates back to 1996. He also asked questions regarding information I had put into my personal statement. Didn't really ask how I would adapt to life on the island - I have a lot of travel abroad experiences, but he did ask me what I thought would be a challenge about living on the island. He gave me an opportunity to tell him something that I thought the admissions committee should know about me and then asked if I had any questions.
Very relaxed. I think it went well. Now I get to wait 2 to 5 weeks for a decision.
Hope that helps ease someone's nerves.

Thanks!! I know we have to buy plane tickets ASAP to go down there does anyone know when they are planning to get there yet?? Obviously a week early for orientation but I'm still not sure ??🙂
