Has anyone received Fort Worth invitations yet?
I haven't received anything yet. I assume that they're sending out invitations to NC people then TX people then CA people since that's the succession of the interviews, so the earlier the interview the sooner you hear back. The wait is absolutely killing me! I hope that we hear back soon, fingers crossed for good news!!

Does anyone know what happens at the interview in terms of guests and what else happens besides the interview itself? I’m trying to figure out whether or not to bring guests but want to know if it’s worth flying them out with me.

Im a first year RVC student and I recommend bringing someone. I brought my mom and it was extremely helpful having someone to be there with and to help support/calm the nerves a bit. You’ll get a presentation on the RVC and be split into groups for ur interview 🙂

Yes, I went with my daughter when she interviewed last year. Most did have one parent with them. RVC does a whole group presentation prior to the students breaking off into interview groups. The presentation is great and gives a lot of information about the school itself, its style of teaching, financial aspects etc. The parents then usually chat etc while each student group goes through the interviews. We loved it and she is a first year at RVC now!

When did you receive a decision following your interview?

I'm definitely down for a group chat with anyone going to NC. My interview is on the 14th but happy to join a chat with those on other dates so we can talk about the best accommodation options.
I would be down to join a group chat!

Interview invite received for Fort Worth Nov 19th! *have not received an email yet, checked the portal and saw it*

For those who have interviewed before or any current students, what is the interview process like and how did you prepare for it?

Hi! First year RVC GAB student here 🙂 As far as the interview process goes, I think it would be beneficial to prepare as you would normally prepare for an interview! That way, you have the confidence to answer a wide variety of questions. The interview style is multi-mini interviews, so you interview at a few stations. With that being said, there isn’t a whole lot you can do to prepare which is good because no one has an unfair advantage and it assesses your real, authentic responses to questions as opposed to previously curated answers. As a current student, RVC really does value critical thinking skills and the ability to think on your feet so I would just keep that in mind. Also, don’t let this scare you! The interview itself is quite enjoyable and there really is no right/wrong answers! You’re going to do great

Interview for Fort Worth on November 18th! (Checked my portal, no email yet.)

For current RVC students, any tips would be greatly appreciated! I was rejected after my interview last year and this is one of my top schools.

Thank you very much! Do you know if the interview is open or closed ? Thanks

If I remember correctly, you only get about 2 minutes of speaking time at each of the stations. So I’m not entirely sure if it’s closed, but they definitely didn’t have anything in front of them during the interviews.

Hi guys! Congrats to everyone who has already received an interview invite, and good luck to those still waiting. I checked my RVC portal today and saw that I got an interview invite for Los Angeles on November 22nd. However, I have not yet received an email regarding the interview invite or more details about where the interview will be held. I want to book flights and accommodation close to the interview site as soon as possible. I pressed "resend my invite" on my RVC portal but still have not received an email. Does anyone know if I should expect an email within the next few days? I'm not sure if I need to contact RVC directly about this. Thanks!!

I'd give it a couple of days. I noticed mine Friday morning but I don't know when it was actually uploaded. I didn't get the email until late afternoon on Friday. Someone else with the LA location might have already gotten the email with the specific location (it should be the same for all LA interviews)

I also have the Nov 22nd interview day and haven't received the email yet. I tried the resend invitation link too and it didn't work for me either. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything else!

Sorry my bad! It’s 5 minutes

Hey! Will anyone be in NC on the 16th for an interview? I have my interview set for then but wanted to see if any other people wanted to meet up or something

Would anyone like a groupchat for Fort Worth interview?

Does anybody who got an interview and had their portal update new requirements along with it know if "Final degree certificate" means diplomas? Slash if you have multiple degrees do you upload all of them?

I have that on my portal...I was just going to upload a picture of my degree but maybe I shouldn't?

I think worst case, if no one else replies knowing what it is, we can just ask at the interview!
I uploaded my official transcripts again (not sure if this is what they want). I found an older thread where people said they just needed a transcript that confirmed the date the degree was awarded, weird that the ones I submitted through VMCAS already had that but maybe this is a requirement for everyone regardless?

Hey y'all, this appeared on my student portal, for the evidence of 70 hours of other animal experience in the last 18 months it wants me to upload a document? Should I just include a word document that lists that I work as an equine trail guide? my VMCAS has that listed as current job but idk. I'm always working with horses so I was a little confused as to what document I should upload or does my boss need to sign it as proof or something?
Also for final degree certificate my diploma won't technically be awarded until spring of 2025 should I just do current transcript with planned classes as evidence?

There’s an example of evidence on the RVC website and I think there’s a paragraph in the interview invite email describing what they need! It has to be a letter written by your supervisor on letterhead w/ their signature. I would reach out to them about the transcript as I’m not sure if you’re still in progress!

First year RVC student here! At the end of the year after you graduate you will send them a copy of your transcript to show that your degree has been completed and that you met any necessary grades they wanted. As long as it does they’ll mark that spot as complete in your RVC portal. If you’ve already graduated then im not sure and I’d email. They’re super helpful 🙂

Could I pm you? Have some questions about the interview!

For those who were wondering about uploading final degree certificate and experiences I emailed them and they got back to me - they said to upload a picture of my diploma (I graduated) and that animal experience references can be uploaded after the interview/in order to accept an offer. I’m not sure about vet experience reference timeline since I completed mine.

Went to the interview last year in LA! Basically, they give a presentation on the program for about an hour, then everyone is separated into groups of about 10 or so. They'll take 1 group at a time, (so if you're in a later group, like I was, you wait and sweat in the large meeting room for 2+ hours :,(... )

The actual interview process consists of a group section where you worked together with a group of 5 other people to answer a question they had laid out for you while 2 ppl from the admissions committee watched over. Seemed like they cared less about what we answered and more about how we interacted with the group.

The other half of the interview is the MMI format, so 5 min at 6 stations; you go in with 5 other people (from the group section) and rotate through stations. At each station, someone from admissions sits on one side and the applicant on the other. The way timing goes is that you get 1 min to sit quietly after rotating, at some stations, a minute to review materials, and then I think 2-3 minutes to talk to the person from admissions. Roughly put, there was some roleplaying, giving directions, drawing comparisons, personal opinion discussion, and clinical priorities.

Honestly, regarding tips, I would just practice thinking on your feet and remaining calm in fast paced situations, which are valuable skills in vet med regardless! Hard to prepare for something like that besides directly practicing at MMI style practice sessions, which I know some places do offer.

I'm interviewing tomorrow! Does anyone have any tips or advice? I'm not sure how to prepare for this interview with the MMI format.

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know how strict they are with journals? Ie. can I bring a journal and reference it if I need to? Last year I had a journal on me and would use it to write out my thoughts for the brief period we had before interacting with the interviewers, but I got too scared to open my journal up to reference it. Lol

Currently at the Boston airport waiting for the flight to Charlotte at 1230ish. Anyone else going to be arriving around 3ish?
