Hi all. I was just wondering, whoever went to rvc, did you like it? Pros and cons? Also, how legit is it compared to US schools? Thanks

How legit is it? I would recommend rephrasing your question and using the search feature to find threads about RVC.

By " legit" , I meant in terms of practicing in the US. Do you have the same status in the Us as If ou went to a US school. Sorry, that was really unclear. There are other rvc threads but they seemed more specific.

It is an AVMA-accredited school/program, so will end up taking the same licensing exam as students in the US. Meaning...there should be no problems with practicing in the US. An added benefit of receiving your education from RVC is that you would be able to practice in the UK and the US (and possibly the EU?). And I don't know that using the term "legit" was appropriate. I felt that your post was...well...impolite, to put it nicely. But maybe that's just me. 😳

Yes...I gathered what you meant...it is just sort of disrespectful to those of us who do study in the UK to phrase it that way. These schools are accredited for a reason. You will NOT get a DVM, but your degree is equivalent. You take the NAVLE and you learn the same things. And epivetlove is correct in saying you can practice in the US, UK, and EU...you can also practice in the commonwealth.

And this is a topic that has been brought up many times in the UK threads.

I see what you guys mean, I meant no disrespect and I see now how the phrasing could come off. I honestly didn't realize, and I apologize. I would be happy to study at RVC, I wouldn't ask about it if I didn't think it was a great school, I just wanted to make sure you could practice in the US. I will try to be clearer in the future.

This information is available in many other threads. You can also search the AVMA's website for a list of accredited schools. Ross and St. George's are the most recent to join their list.
