I will be declining my 4 year program seat soon. Hope one of you all hears good news!
Or if a current student is available to answer!!Does anyone have a figure for total COA for an international student? Like including travel and housing COL etc
Did you use the VIN COA tool?Does anyone have a figure for total COA for an international student? Like including travel and housing COL etc
I’ve never heard of that! Can you link?Did you use the VIN COA tool?
I'm on a mobile device, just do an internet search for VIN Cost of Attendance toolI’ve never heard of that! Can you link?
I emailed them last week and they said those who are shortlisted will be notified mid-late March.Have any international students who got accepted heard anything about the scholarship? They award one each year and they said if you made the running they let you know in early March
Not yet, I have a feeling it'll be after April 15th, unfortunatelyHas anyone gotten off the holdlist yet?
For my outstanding courses my offer letter says I need to finish them with "no lower than a B-," but I'd reach out to Ms. Cannon since you already completed orgo 1!Does anyone’s acceptance letter say: “This offer is based upon you completing all planned credits, as listed on your VMCAS application. If this has or does change please contact us immediately as it may impact your offer of a place on the course.”
I originally put in a plan to retake Orgo 1 (got a C-), but didn’t as I was rejected from the school I applied to requiring a C.
I can’t find any course/grade requirements on RVC’s website and wondering if I need to be worried…
My offer letter didn’t say anything about grades for the courses just that one line. I wasn’t sure if it was automatically entered in the letter for everyone or just me!For my outstanding courses my offer letter says I need to finish them with "no lower than a B-," but I'd reach out to Ms. Cannon since you already completed orgo 1!
RVC admissions is very helpful if you give them a call to inquire. My daughter had to substitute one 400 level science for another due to a schedule conflict, which changed her planned courses. She called and ran it by them and they were very helpful. It all worked out well and she is in year 1 of their 4 year program now.Does anyone’s acceptance letter say: “This offer is based upon you completing all planned credits, as listed on your VMCAS application. I have not but I don't think they notify those who are not shortlisted so I have no clue if it went out already :/Has anyone heard about the scholarship? I know they said mid to late March …
I haven't heard anything yet but hoping to hear soon. Hopefully they will also let us know at least if we didn't receive it.Has anyone heard about the scholarship? I know they said mid to late March …
From the email that was sent out earlier, it looks like they are notifying everyone as a precaution in case they don't get AVMA accredited status. They seem to be a smart school so I'm sure they will be doing everything to try to improve scores. However, it is something to think about if you want to come back to the states to practice. I am also not sure if losing the accredation will impact federal loans to cover tuition.Hi, does anyone here know what is going on with the AVMA accreditation for RVC?
Yeah, just worried that if they’re do lose it it’ll just be way more expensive to find a way to take the NAVLE and practice in the states. Is anyone else here also concerned about this? It’s making me lean towards other choices…From the email that was sent out earlier, it looks like they are notifying everyone as a precaution in case they don't get AVMA accredited status. That's 100% understandable. It could be worth reaching out to RVC and asking them about backups if it is going to be a make or break decision for you.Yeah, just worried that if they’re do lose it it’ll just be way more expensive to find a way to take the NAVLE and practice in the states. I wonder if this was meant more for the UK students than American. Because that process isn’t true for other veterinary schools with AVMA accreditation.I think you’d have to have taken and passed the NAVLE before the accreditation loss to practice in the states since that’s what the RVC website says
Should a school lose accreditation, graduates of that school who have yet to pass the NAVLE would be required to qualify for the NAVLE by alternative pathways
Surely if chosen to go to RVC, all students would have to comply to the same conditions?I wonder if this was meant more for the UK students than American. Because that process isn’t true for other veterinary schools with AVMA accreditation.
On their web about this they have a section of faq about if people have already firmed them and if they now want to change their minds because of this AVMA… obviously they’re taking it seriously but it’s also making me feel uneasy!😭Given that we probably won't know the results until Spring 2026, this is incredibly un-ideal for US students 🙁
Yea that’s right. If an American school lost accreditation, the school is still required to finish out current students education and they can sit the NAVLE, but new incoming classes can’t or they aren’t allowed to take classes. It wouldn’t make sense to have other rules for European schoolsSurely if chosen to go to RVC, all students would have to comply to the same conditions?
Does anyone know generally if the waitlist moves a decent amount? Or if anyone has gotten pulled off it yet?

I have been emailing with them about this. The alternative pathways route is not the only option yet. From what I understood, RVC is going back and forth with the AVMA to see what happens if they lose probationary accreditation in April 2026. Because RVC is not a US school (US schools normally go into terminal accreditation which protects all enrolled students and enables them to take the NAVLE), they do not know if they are subject to the same rules with AVMA. Fingers crossed that they allow for the same rules to apply to RVC as they do for US schools. Also, if any of you are concerned about FAFSA, don't worry because even if AVMA accreditation is fully lost it does not affect FAFSA support since the RVC has other accreditations (RCVS and EAEVE)!anybody interested in working in north america after attending this school should be carefully reading their statement about AVMA accreditation which is publicly available on the RVC website.
especially important is this paragraph:
"What does it mean that the RVC is on probationary accreditation status with the AVMA?
The RVC currently holds probationary status and is actively seeking to regain full accreditation which it must do by April 2026. The consequences of losing accreditation are outlined on the AVMA website. Should a school lose accreditation, graduates of that school who have yet to pass the NAVLE would be required to qualify for the NAVLE by alternative pathways. RCVS (UK) and EAEVE (Europe) accreditations would be unaffected should AVMA accreditation be lost.
Pass rates for the NAVLE are an important aspect of accreditation and the only one of eleven standards in which the RVC is currently deficient."
that does not seem to be the case here.
I also just declined my 5-year seat. Hoping for good news for someone on the waitlist!Just declined my 5-year seat offer - hopefully this brings good news to someone else! Best of luck to you all!!
Rvc has already published the potential consequences of losing accreditation on their website. Students who have not passed the navle will be required to proceed through ecfvg.I have been emailing with them about this. The alternative pathways route is not the only option yet.
