On the Saint Louis waitlist letter they say,

"We hope you continue to be interested in attending our School and encourage you to remain flexible as the prolonged admissions process continues throughout the coming weeks"

What does this mean, is coming weeks define as around 3 weeks or could it be defined as 15 weeks? If you know please let me know.

hehe....yeah....I got that letter too the other day. They say it's ranked, so does that mean if you call in they'll give you a number?

At least it wasnt a reject🙂

If it makes you feel any better, I was accepted and withdrew recently. Therefore there should be some movement. Good luck to you both.

Just FYI...when I interviewed I stayed with two of the second years and one of the guys in their class was accepted from the waitlist the Friday before classes started. He drove to Missouri over the weekend and stayed on someone's couch for a month. I guess when they ask you to remain flexible, they really mean it!

anyone anyone😀 😀

I too received the same letter and am curious about the process. When I called the admissions office they were less than forthcoming about their system except that there is a ranked waitlist, it is strictly confidential, and they don't give out statistical info about how many people are waitlisted, how many people are accepted off of the list, etc.

As with many schools, wait lists are intangible. I'd expect the worse just to be prepared..therefore, months. Realistically though, I think May is when people have to withdraw from multiple acceptances so the wait lists starts to really pick up. Also, if you have any good updates that will make your file stronger, you best send them in so they can give it another look.

Most med schools continue to review their incoming applicants on a bi-weekly or so basis. If you just rocked your classes with A's or want to add a kick ass rec letter to your arsenal, i'm sure that can't hurt. 🙂

Canrenone and others who received the letter...

When did you interview and when did you get the letter? I had a regional interview on 1/31 and was told I wouldn't hear for 10 weeks. Is this their standard wait time?

I interviewed in the beginning of February and received this encrypted letter the end of February. They told me it would be about 4 weeks and it was.

bump, there have to be more of us waitlisted at slu!

I got my acceptance about 3 months post-interview. They had told me to expect to hear 1 month post. For those waitlisted, are you guys considering the school if accepted? Is it anyone's top choice?

I recieved my waitlist letter today from SLU -- I interviewed on February 9, and the letter was post-marked February 27, so it took them a shade under three weeks.

I have an interview at SLU on April 5 and while I don't have too much info on how full the class is I'm guessing it has been filled and they're waiting for people to decline to move to the waitlist. Anyone know any more details? Thanks!

I believe that there's some rule requiring all med schools to have a full roster by March 15. Therefore I would expect anyone interviewing past that time (like myself) to get waitlisted. Although this news is a little disappointing I have to keep reminding myself to still do my best. There's a good amount of WL movement at SLU and a high spot on the list will give you a good chance of eventually getting in.

While we're on the subject....

I haven't gotten an "on-hold" or interview or rejection letter from SLU.

I was interviewed and waitlisted at SLU the first time I applied (for 2002, offered interview Mid March, interviewed May). 2 years, more experience, and more confidence later, all is silent.
I guess this time they don't like me...😕

Someone hold me. 🙁

I got in off the waitlist last year and I think what the letter means is...........remain flexible until the start of school starts. In other words, we might accept you at any moment so be ready if you want to come here. For me, it was a phone call in June and I interviewed in December and waitlisted in maybe March?

I was interviewed off campus in November and waitlisted in January. What I want to know is this, has anyone been rejected outright or do they dump everyone they don't want on the waitlist?

I have an interview at SLU for April 11th. Does this mean that I am interviewing for the waitlist???

does anyone know when this list is supposed to starts moving the most? how many peeps??

yay! maybe i'm the only one! st louis here i come! 😀

I got off the waitlist two days ago for St. Louis. Will be declining my spot. I interviewed early February. Good luck!

Where you accepted by phone or email?

Interestingly, by snail mail. I think its because it's still before the May 15th deadline and they don't need answer right away. Good luck

i received a call from them a couple days back... to confirm my spot. i presume they are calling all those who have multiple acceptances. im pretty sure the waitlist is gonna move real fast this and the following week.

best of luck to ya'll 👍

I interviewed February 14th, was waitlist the beginning of March and got a letter of acceptance on May 11th. Seems like things are already moving at SLU.

Has anybody heard back from SLU lately? i.e. does anybody know what is going on with the waitlist? 😕

no response? What has probably happened is everybody else has been accepted off the waitlist and no longer logs on to SDN anymore so i am just sitting here writing to myself.

no no, dont worry gojonn, i'm still here. though it looks like it might just be us. we can write to each other- no news from my end...except from what ive been told from emily (secretary) is that "theres usually lots of movement...this yr we are actively offering spots....rank is confidential...(aka, ure last on the list)"

First post, just saying I'm on it too. Does anyone know of someone who has gotten off the waitlist through a phone call?

I just got the waitlist mail too (#4). I interviewd back in April and it took them a while to send me this letter. Do you guys know if SLU rejects candidates after interviews?

Anyways, did u guys already get accepted? If not, what are your future plans? I am not sure if I should start working on my application again and reapply or look for a grad program and then reapply later.

Hey guys,

I interviewed back in Oct and was placed on the waitlist. Still on it 😴

What does (#4) mean? Did you find out what number rank you are? And if you did how did you find out? I guess you were right, if you don't get told what number you are then that means you are last, that is my position at least.
Also, to answer that other guys question, through all of my searching and research I have never heard of anyone being rejected outright from SLU.

Not surprising with a MCAT score of 40!

I'm already accepted into a program, how long do you think I should wait for my waitlisted a$$ to be admitted to SLU? I gotta start planning things like, where to live, job for so, etc...

Hey bro, I am kinda in a similar situation, I have been accepted to SLU and planning on going there unless I hear back from my top choice where I'm waitlisted. Its hard to know how long to wait, I'm thinking I'll wait until about the last two weeks before school starts and then move on. I love SLU though, don't get me wrong

if Anybody has any housing questions, I have a friend whom I can put you in touch with to find excellent housing in the nicest area in STL. good luck!

No, Sorry for the confusion. I meant that was my 4th waitlist this year.

hey bro, could you please send me the name of that guy?

I am going to SLU and need to find a pad in the Lou.

Just withdrew from SLU so there's another open spot...good luck

Well I just got in off the SLU waitlist today. This is my 2nd application cycle and I was waitlisted at SLU last year also. It was very tough for me failing to get into med school last year. However I managed to get a job, reapply and honestly enjoy the most amazing year of my life. Good luck to everyone still hoping to get into SLU :luck:

any recent movement? There hasn't been a word on this thread for a few days now.

[anyone else on the waitlist? i heard there's been movement but no recent posts on this thread.

hi, i am on the waitlist. But i haven't heard much, and this thread hasn't been very lively. So i don't know if other SDN'ers are having any luck w/ saint louis.
