Schools without dedicated study for Step 1?

Had an interview today and was surprised when I found out that they do not have a dedicated study period for Step 1. Not really worried about it because their class consistently scores ~10 points higher than the national average. How common or uncommon is having a dedicated study time for boards?

Was this an MD program or a DO program?

I know a couple schools who say they don't have it but they really do. a "M2 Summer break" or an 8 week block for "electives"

All schools will ensure you pass Step 1 the best they can. You good, fam.

I figured... the student ambassadors said that there is one block in M2 year that is more "laidback" because the professors know students are studying for step. I'm sure its not a big deal because the classes have historically done well on step 1.

Oh, I see. I think it would be more of a personal decision at that point if you have multiple acceptances. Clearly, they make it work. It'll be fine regardless 🙂
