  1. Pre-Pharmacy
I saw that UCSD has a prerequisite on sciences that expire in 5 years. If I only took general chemistry 5 years ago, do you think its safe to move on to organic chemistry? Is this expiration on science courses usually the case for other Pharmacy Schools also?

The two schools I applied to, U of MN and Creighton, did not have expiration dates for any of their pre-req classes. BUT, each school is different, and be sure to check out each you are considering.

Depends on the school. Look at their websites and if it's still not clear, call them up.

UOP in Stockton states that if it's been 7 years since you've taken bio or o-chem to retake it, though for bio they'll accept anatomy, physiology or genetics in lieu of general bio.

UCSD's requirement is that if it's been 10 years since you've taken any of the science classes, you have to retake them, even if you did well the first time around. That's why I didn't apply to UCSD.

Yes, check with the SOP because Maryland has a 5 year pre-req and Shenandoah has a 10 year pre-req.

Some schools will waive this requirement on a case by case basis if you are working in a science related field (i.e. research).

Personally, I think this is a silly requirement especially if you score well on the PCAT.

Does anyone know about other schools' policies on expired science prereqs, such as USN, Western, Midwestern, UCSF, UA?

great I need to retake all my science classes again and I am 26!

USN doesn't make you retake your pre-reqs but if you do take all of them within the last five years, you can drop all your older coursework from your GPA calculation. That comes in handy if you screwed up early in your schooling and want to replace those old grades with something better.
