I started out as a freshman at a CSU and took gen chem I there in the fall. After that I decided to transfer to a CSU near home and for spring I was unable to enroll in the classes I needed to continue the prereq path. In order to not delay I enrolled at the cc nearby and took gen chem II there. The second year, I took ochem I at the university. I barely got into this course as there was only one seat open. Then spring came around and I had a late registration date again. With budget cuts, there was only one ochem II class and it was filled. I decided to enroll at the cc for ochem II this semester to finish on time.

My chemistry sequences are at different campuses. Does this make a difference to the pharmacy schools I apply to? I am a kinesiology-health science major, so I am taking those courses as well. This semester I am taking all my units at the cc because it didn't make sense to pay tuition for classes I could take at the cc and then commute between both places. Will these courses still be accepted?

I still plan on taking biochemistry at the university if this improves anything.

I'm assuming by CSU, you mean California State University...

The same thing actually happened to me with biology: I took a year of general bio at UC Santa Cruz, but neglected to take the labs for it. So, I took one lab at Cal State Northridge in the summer, and the equivalent of the 2nd semester lab at a CC closer to home. I applied to 7 places, and as far as I know, no one has raised any questions about it.

Just make sure that the courses are equivalent to one another (That the CC courses are transferable to the CSU's). If you haven't already, go to this site, it will help: http://www.assist.org/web-assist/welcome.html

Yes, I'm referring to California. Just wanted to make sure that the courses are still accepted as a sequence. They are transferrable but I have read the courses not meeting the year long requirement because some of the topics might not be covered if taken at different schools.

Oh, I see. Well, you could always call the individual schools, and ask if these courses are transferable. When I did this for the schools that I applied to, they had me email a copy of the syllabi for both courses at the different institutions, so they could verify that it met the year-long requirement.
