I will be applying next cycle, currently in gap year 1. I've recently been offered two part-time positions. A medical scribe position and a client care position at an addiction clinic. I must also study for and retake the MCAT in order to raise the CARS score. Combined, the two jobs will net 54+ hours/week.
I currently have many clinical hours through EMS and campus work. I'm interested in a top research university and I have 2.5 years of research with publication + thesis from UG.

I understand the value in this experience, but would the scribe position be beneficial enough to outweigh the additional hours working vs/ studying? I will keep the client care position. I'm passionate about addiction treatment and am excited to work with this population.

Please let me know if more information is needed and I appreciate any advice in advance!

I'm currently a scribe and enjoy it. That said it's a pretty taxing position and the pay isn't great.

If I were you I would focus on the MCAT. That will make or break your whole cycle next year. I would work the one part time job and maybe volunteer on your own schedule as well. Do not attempt to over burden yourself when trying to take this exam. Sounds like you've got tons of clinical experience already, and the other position will only enhance that.

Good luck OP!
