UW is not sending invites yet, just confirming they have your application. Sounds like it will still be a few weeks before they send them out.

I received a secondary from Medical College of Georgia today.

UM = Univ of Miami?; I have a 29Q OOS. Did they say don't even bother applying with < 30?

here's what that part of the secondary email said:
Miami email said:
If you have any problems or questions, contact the Office of Admissions at (305)-243-3234. Remember, however, that to receive full committee consideration, you must have a minimum composite MCAT score of 24 and you must have taken the exam in 2004 or later. To be truly competitive non-Florida applicants should have an MCAT score of 30 or higher.

so it sounds like they're trying to say that they might send you a secondary, but it's prob not worth filling it out if you don't meet their req's? but you never know, though. i'd think that a 29 would have a fighting chance since it's so close to what they asked for. you should call that # and ask them.

Take note of the difference in the wording used here. The minimum score of 24 is an absolute cutoff. Having a score of 30 or higher will make you more competitive as an OOS applicant. This is totally subjective, and I think that since you are on the cusp, you can still make yourself competitive with your ECs and that very important PS. I say go for it! Good :luck: !

I just got an email for NJMS's secondary. It was attached to the email as a word document, no link. And it's nice and easy - if you're in-state, there's no essays! 😀

I got one too, and I am not verified yet. I'm out of state so I have to fill out the essays, but they don't seem to have anything extra for MD/PHD. Finally, a school that reads the three AMCAS essays I had to write 👍

Is Michigan's screened? If I didn't get the secondary yet should I assume I didn't make the cutoff? 🙁

When were you verified? It took me three days after I was verified to start getting invites. I was verified on Friday, June 23rd and didn't get emails until Monday Night, June 26th.

Bump for Monday. Let's see if the wave of secondaries comes this first week of July like everyone always says. Urban legend, or truth?

Also, congrats to the people who have passed screening at the various schools. Way to go! :luck:

Ohio State does not screen.

Just got my first secondary from UMDNJ-NJMS. I submitted 6/30 and am not verified yet. Has 2 questions for out of state residents (space for one or two paragraphs each).

Edit: ooops. Just saw that it was already on the list.

I received my secondary from Robert Wood Johnson last week, and sent it in right away. However, I just noticed at the bottom of their letter that it mentioned something about screening. Does anyone know what they screen for? Any GPA or MCAT minimums or just to make sure you have taken MCAT, etc.? It seemed like they were going to start screening after they get your check in the mail.....

Weird thing is the MSAR says "n/a" by the screening and secondary app sections for RWJ. But yet they still have an application fee. Was there much to their form? I havn't gotten mine yet (but am not verified yet anyway).

I just received the email invite from Washington University in St. Louis!! 🙂

There's nothing to it. Literally. They want you to submit your LOR's, and there is a form to send in with your fee, which just needs your name, AMCAS ID#, signature, and date (and the check, of course).

I 😍 the NJ schools.

Someone mentioned Jefferson on the first page but it wasn't added to the list and I don't see anything on their webpage? Anybody know?

it is on their web page. u can print the written application but there is an online application that no one has access to yet. i really hope they give out logins/pins today. just look harder on their admissions site, it's there.

Anybody finds the U of Chicago's third essay a chore? Something like: please meditate upon the our holy mission statement. After genuflection is complete, proceed to prostrate yourself at our feet and explain how a GREAT fit you are to our most exemplary institution.

Anyone else get anything from rochester?
I seem to be in that first wave and have nothing from them yet.
Not that I need another stupid secondary sitting in my pile.

you can access their website and long on using your AMCAS ID. no one can touch the 2ndary til the 17th anyway.

and it's a real easy one so it won't sit in a pile 😀

I read on their website that they suggest not sending anything until they verify your app.
