If i shadowed around 20 hours do you guys think that's enough? I know this kind of a subjective question. For me with this 20 hours including time in the surgery room I am 100% sure I want to become a podiatrist. My only concern is that on paper 20 hours looks relatively little.

thanks

You're fine. Just make sure you get a letter of recommendation from the Doc you shadowed for your App.

Yup. I only needed 10 hours before I made up my mind and get a letter of rec

thanks for the quick responses. already got the LOR from him 🙂

including time in the surgery room

That's sweet! The pod I shadow does surgery on wednesdays which are notoriously bad days for me academically (9-4 this semester, 10-3 last semester), so I can never shadow him in the OR. Otherwise I've just seen minor surgery like toe amp, ingrown toe-nail, etc, nothing super invasive.

I get my fix from youtube, and podiatrylive, but I WISH i could see some live OR stuff.

Once in the OR...I was sold.
