SLU Waitlist Movement???

I haven't gotten the letter either (I'm from Cali), but that's because I just got my post-interview waitlist notification last week. On the other hand, my boyfriend who lives in Orange County has been on their waitlist and did get the "are you still interested in us" letter in the mail this week.

So, anyway, I think you guys are on the right track: you should probably talk to Heather in admissions to make sure your file's active. I remember another thread a few months back about the fiasco with the interview invites and rejection letters....so it's probably best to check. 🙂

Still didn't get my letter yet. So I called them and they said that all the letters were sent out on the same day and it should be getting to us soon.

Wow! The letter I got was dated May 6th, and I got it here in MN on May 11th. It is wierd that you have not recieved it yet. Maybe that means they have offered you a spot of the waitlist!! Who knows, one can only hope. Good luck!

here is my take on some of the stuff that has come up.. i got the "your waitlisted" letter and the "send this back if you're interested" thing at the same time in the same envelope. i would also suggest sending ANYTHING that you can to hype up your file, i've heard that those "they won't tell you" type waitlists are actually more interested in how bad you want them than minor differences in gpa. i interviewed in late april and got my waitlist letter a few days back..

as for st. louis, i grew up about 2 hours away in southern missouri, and i love love love st. louis. it is a great mid-sized town. there is lots to do, but the slu area itself is not the most happening. up south grand there is a pretty cool neighborhood that is fairly safe (less than 1 mile away from the med campus). if you need to know anything else, give me a yell.

Today is May 17th, and I still have not received the mysterious 'letter of intent request' letter.

I called them and they said they sent it was sent to everyone and that I should just wait a little longer. I'm from Northern Cali.

If any of you are out there and are still waiting for this letter, please post your location. If you are from Northern Cali and have recieved this letter, please let me know as well. Thanks in advance

Don't worry guys. There's still alot of hope. Just today I was in one of the administrative offices running some extracurricular activities and saw a faxed letter of declination..there's definitely some waitlist movement. In all reality, if you are sure that SLU is the school that you want to attend over all others, by all means, let the school know. They'd love to know that.

Instead of waiting around for that letter for so long, maybe you should just e-mail/fax/mail them a letter indicating that you're definitely still interested. That's basically what the letter is about, right? So just send one in yourself! Same info isn't it? I think that should make you feel a little better.

I already wrote a letter to update my file and included in that that I was still interested in them. Still even that, the letter should have been sent. I am wondering if this happened to any one else.

I haven't gotten this letter yet either. I am in southern california. I did write them an intent letter last week..so maybe that's whey i didn't get one?

I will be contacting them next week if I still don't have it. I was also wondering if that letter was only written to people who will be getting a spot right away?

Hey Maple, thought you might be interested. I just called SLU and told them that some people received the 2nd letter a week ago but she said to wait bit more because the letters aren't sent at the same time.

To all SLU waitlistee, I heard from a SLU student when I went to interview there that SLU has alot of turn-over in its waitlist, taking anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 of the class off the list; that'd be about ~70 (out of 150 total class size). So if you are on SLU waitlist, chances are good to excellent :wink:

I recently got accepted to Wake Forest, which is my top choice non-Cali school, so I'm gonna be sending in my SLU withdraw letter tomorrow. Hopefully this will help with some waitlist movement, and maybe this can help one of you! :wink:

I called SLU about the whereabouts of the 2nd letter (again) 😛

She said that there's something wrong w/ the printing and return address and that we (those of who hasn't received the letter yet) should get them this week. She said that this is just a 'where are you over the summer' kinda letter. So it wouldn't help or hold you back from getting accepted.

That's a big rock off my chest 🙂

Thanks Maple I finally got it today! I remember being told that the waitlist won't start moving till June 11th. I assume only under special circumstance will they accept you before June 11th as some here have. Best of luck to you all!

i haven't posted on this topic before, but i just wanted to tell everyone that i got accepted off the waitlist today from slu! 2 good news in 2 days. the lakers beat the kings last night, and the acceptance.

i applied last year and was waitlisted and subsequently rejected from slu, so this is a long time coming. i'm excited and looking forward to studying my ass off for the next 4 years! good luck to everyone else in this grueling process!

I just called SLU and Rachel told me that interviews have been extended for 2 more weeks!!! 🙁 🙁 She also told me that there hasn't been much movement lately...which does not make sense as lake just got in! so....mixed messages..and possibly more waiting for the rest of us! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Hey possible future Dr. Billikens! Hahaha...I'm new here, and I thought that this'd be the perfect forum for me 'cause I'm aching to get off that waitlist!! (My first and only choice now) How should I approach a secondary letter of intent (should I send one?) I already informed them I was still interested, and I haven't got anything new to show them...What should I include, basically a "You guys are so awesome and I know that I have much to gain and contribute should you accept me!" sorta letter??
