  • International students cannot participate. Must be U.S. citizen.

Hey! I hope I'm doing this right (after 2 months of following this thread, I've just joined this website so yay), but I had a very recent webinar with a few representatives from SMDEP and I have just 2 notes on this^

1. Juniors and seniors definitely may NOT apply. There was a Q&A session for the webinar I participated in and there was a very large emphasis on this. Please, apply as a freshman or sophomore.

2. While there is no bias for "early cycles", the program is first come, first served. Everyone has a fair chance at being evaluated for admission, but only until the sites are filled up. With respect to that, it pays to apply early.

On that note, good luck to everyone who applied!!!!!

Hey guys! I just joined SDN but I've followed this thread since the beginning
URGENT QUESTION.

When logging into my SMDEP app, I tried entering my password in too many times and got my account locked🙁 now ,even though I know my password now bc I found it on my notes in my phone, I can't access my account bc it says "this account is locked!".
Either it's bc I entered in my password too much or bc I failed my security questions. Ugh I'm the worst.

Freaking out because I found out about my sites tomorrow night... SOS GUYS

You need send an email ASAP. Unfortunately, it's Saturday and tomorrow is Sunday and Monday is a national holiday. But they may reply by Monday. If you get in you have 2 business days to apply so if you call on Monday, then you should have enough time to respond to a site.

Just please send an email now and then call on Monday. Even though it's a holiday, they should be in the office since its decision day.

They're closed Monday. You're not gonna get an answer

Edit: they are really bad with answering email, so calling then Tuesday wold be better

Hey everyone, Somehow I've managed to read every post from page 1 to now in just 3 days:laugh:..but I'm also waiting for Monday and I just wanna say good luck to everyone!!! My schools are UCLA, Howard, and Louisville btw!

Are you community college or 4 year anniversary? I applied for UCLA but I'm at a four year anniversary🙁

You're a freshman though, so if anything there is always next year. I'm a sophomore and it's my second time applying (last time I applied late second cycle), so I'm screwed if this doesn't work out lmao

Im a 4 year student, but I didn't realize UCLA's community college priority until after I selected them 🙁. But, hopefully I get into the other two. Im a sophomore so this is my first and last time applying. . :xf::xf:

SO I'm applying for another program that is similar to SMDEP but it's for three summers with a different focus each summer, all helpful for Med School. SMDEP says once you accept a site, you can't undo the acceptance. && I won't find out about the decision of the second program (NERA HCOP) until after the Feb 15 deadline. Is there anyone that knows if people have backed out of SMDEP after they accepted a site?

Yeah you can definitely back out if you do it soon (so someone else can take your spot)! I doubt they can force you to go to their site lol but good luck w/ either one

I applied to that too. You find out April 1st, and the deadline is March. Are you NJ or NY resident?

Btw, you cant undo the acceptance and expect to get into a different program site. But you can just withdraw from SMDEP altogether.

Anybody applying for other programs? I want to know backups if I get rejected lol
 
By the way I'm super duper locked out of my account and emailed the individual sites and asked them nicely if they could email me the admission decisions...I doubt they can but I figured it's worth a shot. I'm desperate at this point since I won't know until (hopefully) Tuesday morning when they (hopefully) unlock my account. Fingers crossed. I couldn't email UWASH Seattle Bc I couldn't find a SMDEP contact email for them.

It's only for NJ or NY residents. If you're NY it requires 2 semesters of chem, if you're NJ you need 2 semesters of chem and english

Dental students: Is anyone attending the ADEA GoDental Recruitment fair on March 12th in Denver?
 
I've been following this thread for weeks now. I'm stressing out. I'm a sophomore so if I don't get in this time I have no other chance. I'm planning to apply to another dental program here in Texas if I don't get in to SMDEP but the chances of getting into that one are even more slim. I applied to Columbia, Howard, and Houston.

Wow. I can't believe it. I get that it's a holiday but it's awfully inconsiderate to not be there on such an important day :/
 
Are the results going to be posted at eastern standard time?
 
Im kinda thinking about not checking until im done all my classes tomorrow...If it's bad news then I know for sure I either won't go to class or if I do, I sulk..sooo lol!

I'm in NYC and all classes are cancelled tomorrow. But that's just me.

Which sites did you pick?
 
Also, my bestfriend also applied but for the medical one and it's only human to feel a little jealous if she gets in and I dont. 🤔
