Too bad you're in MI and can't go ski some POW!

You guys suck. We are "essential" personnel and report regardless of the school closing.
You've got to be kidding me. How on earth are M3s "essential"? From our perspective, we finished last Wed and had Thurs as a study day for our Friday shelf exams. We all went to orientation for our new rotations on Monday. So all of the teams have been surviving without M3s for a week already... and even if we were there, we're brand stinking new (and therefore stupid).

Besides- our residents told us that if we got in on Tues, we probably couldn't get back out, and that we don't pay tuition to spend 72 hours solid at the hospital. 👍

We got an alert at 415 that main campus was closed but the university hospital would be open (this went out via email and text message)... awesome to get woken up early to find out that... yes, you still have to get up.

So, I leave extra early (5:30)... get in to pre-round at 6 only to find out that the email that canceled clerkships went out at 540. 🙁

Still, got to go home early and had the whole day to do absolutely nothing at all... pretty sweet.

That sucks. When we have snow days even if the hospital is open we can claim it's not safe to drive (the reason the school is closed). Considering that we can't place orders I'm pretty sure we're non-essential especially since there are holidays and days in between rotations.

I'm not getting paid so I'm definitely not risking my life just to round

Downside of being non-essential personnel (aka MS3): hours and hours to perfect the sleeping-while-standing technique in clinic, on rounds, in surgery while no one cares or notices you are there...

Upside of being non-essential personnel (aka MS3): SNOW DAY!

Email from our chief resident earlier this afternoon- off again tomorrow. :hardy:

Although, at this point it does suck for those people who are on 2 week rotations- they've pretty much missed half of it.

there's nothing sucky about missing out on half of a rotation. I wish it snowed here. Stupid mid atlantic states. GRRRRR. On the other hand, if we got 3 inches, it'd be a state emergency because the 1 tonka plow truck can't handle it.

Thumbs up for you guys!!

👍👍👍Snow day in Galveston, TX what what!👍👍👍

We're getting snow tonight, but our president is a newly transplanted northerner so he's not closing the school down pre-emptively. Methinks someone does not understand what it means to have snow/ice in Houston.

I don't know.. if it's something you might want to match into, it kind of sucks to get only 50% exposure to it.

For myself, I'm missing out on 6am OB rounds ---> completely welcoming of said 3 snow days. 😀
