So i just took the DAT at here are my scores:

PAT: 20
RC: 21
QR: 18
Biology: 18
Gchem: 16
Ochem: 15

my Cumulative GPA is 3.4, and my science is 3.1

Indian girl from Illinois, applying to midwest schools, plus NYU and nova

I know this is bad. Do I have any chance at all? I have tons of shadowing, and great recs, and a an explanation for my crappy grades (my dad passed away, and my grades were crap that semester)

Tell me what you think

It isn't your GPA that will hurt you as much as that 15 and 16 in your chemistry's. Plus if you just took the DAT you could be considered as a late applicant which means that schools have already looked through thousands of applicants. I would say chances are slim, but you still have a small one. Good luck.👍

Yeah, you should be nervous. Good luck though. Why did you take the DAT so late? Are you applying next year or this year?

hey,
I am sorry to hear about ur dad...maybe take some extra courses to boost up that GPA. You did really well in RC, which I think is a tough section and also PAT and QR for that matter, hard sections... so you are definitely capable. Just take GPA boosters.. are you graduating this year? how about doing a masters?? eventhough I dont think your GPA is that low. Perhaps contact the schoool you like, and explain your situation and maybe ask if you can do a retake for them to consider you.
Dont worry, if this is for you, it will work out. good luck.

Condolences on the loss of your Dad, I lost my Dad in July, right in the middle of my DAT study schedule.

Unfortunately, this situation most likely requires a DAT retake to bring up the 15 and 16. You may as well roll on this cycle and see what happens, but you should start preparing to study again.

Good Luck! 👍
