Is sociology a good major for getting into a medical school in the US? I understand you can major in whatevery you want as long as you take the pre-reqs but statistically some majors have low chances of getting into medical school, such as health care studies, which has low acceptance rates and overall low MCAT scores. Do sociology majors have good acceptance rates and does it prepare you for the MCATs? Is psychology better or more preferred by med schools? Any sociology majors here?

From what I have gathered here, major makes little difference. GPA and MCAT score. Science majors better prepare you for the MCAT, but as long as you do well on it, your major will be fine.

It doesn't matter.

Just keep in mind that if you don't get into medical school, that sociology degree won't get you a job.
