I'm finishing Bio II this semester along with Chem 200 (with a few extra courses of course). Looking at the class list for spring I'm conflicted on what courses to take since most of my Gen-Eds are done.
Trying to compare these 2 potential schedules, need some advice. Thanks!

Chem II - 3 (units)
Chem IIL -2
Pre-Calc -5
Microbiology -5

or

Chem II -3
Chem IIL -2
Pre-Calc -5
Human Anatomy -4

Really comes down to Human Anatomy or Microbiology. I'm planning on working part time as well (on campus tutoring or at the health office) and I volunteer 4-8 hours a week in a Surgery Department nearby.

Either one is fine.

n=1, but I saw much more micro than anatomy on the MCAT. In fact, can't remember seeing any straight up anatomy.
Though if it's a combined Anatomy & Physiology course, then they'd probably be about equal in test-prep usefulness.

Is Micro really difficult? I hear it's an extremely challenging course

Depends on you and the teacher.
There's a lot of stuff to memorize, and a lot of logic that seems to be beyond some people.
Personally I really liked it, especially the lab...it was like a big puzzle to figure out what you've got by process of exclusion.

Anatomy also has lots of memorization, though less logic. Physio has logic and memorization.

I took both human anatomy and microbiology and I think overall the difficulty level is similar.

I agree with @kraskadva that micro seems more MCAT relevant - just based on my preparation so far.

I think micro is also a much more interesting course. I took one that focused on pathogens so we spent more time on pathogenic species - losing out a little on some types of organisms. I loved it though and think that the sort of reasoning you practice in the class is very useful.

Awesome I'll take Micro then, just wanted make sure my course load seemed reasonable. Not trying to spend an abysmal amount of time on that course compared to my other 2
