Buddy do yourself a favor don't post any carib questions on this forum these guys are a much of geeks that think they know it all..If you want a real opinion about a carib school post your question on valuemd.
I looked at valuemd for 5 seconds before finding this thread:
http://www.valuemd.com/st-james-medical-school/228112-10-times-attending-sjsm.html
all in all it sounds like a great school....
I know it isn't a good school but you guys are brutal. Please don't tell him that St. James is an actual good choice. I know you are smart enough to understand that(if you think otherwise...please don't rant on BS reasons lol)

speak for yourself, your smart enough to know that.SMHI'm pretty sure we asked this of you three threads ago.
That building is....tiny.
less need to walk around!

you have a negative stand point about life.less need to walk around!
thanks, but the MCAT worries me
The MCAT is but one standardized test you take on the road to become a physician. It is not the hardest, longest or even the most important. If that's the hurdle you consider an impasse it might pay to cut your losses now.
I know it isn't a good school but you guys are brutal.
My reactions to him aren't intended to be mean, but blunt honesty is sometimes needed. It isn't even one of the Big4 Caribbean schools that he is asking about. And like Law2Doc mentioned, posting false info can rub people the wrong way.

fewer ways to be disappointed! excelsior!

Not everyone can make it into a US or DO med school. He came to this website and was immediately gang beaten by everyone. You guys won't make it threw residency with your attitudes. My reactions to him aren't intended to be mean, but blunt honesty is sometimes needed. This is probably a dumb question, but why are Caribbean schools in the Caribbean? They cater primarily to students who want to practice in the US as evident by the great efforts the schools go to to secure US rotations. Why put the schools in the Caribbean when putting them in the Midwest would probably cost just as much?
and with a MCAT of 24R, would think you know everything.Man the more I read the better this school gets!

Is your K/D on this thread like a 3.5?
Not bad, but over all they exist. If gives many an opportunity to practice medicine. It's good school with a decent education to gain. We don't know the psychology in placing it there but its cool. This is probably a dumb question, but why are Caribbean schools in the Caribbean? thank you everybody for some comic relief. the amount people argue with each other on the internet is ridiculous.
Do you mean "there"?Not bad, but over all they exist. If gives many an opportunity to practice medicine. Its good school with a decent education to gain. We dont know the psychology in placing it their but its cool.

He came to this website equating St James and Brown, misusing words, and then started commenting about how Caribbean was cheaper than US schools, or how people who haven't already taken the prereqs in college don't get into med school. He wasn't "gang beaten" until he exposed himself as someone who truly knew squat but still was intent to spread falsehoods on multiple threads. In other words a troll. This community only works if the blatantly false comments are stomped out -- otherwise SDN does more harm than good. People come on here to learn about the process and that only happens If it's more knowledgable members exercise some degree of quality control. So yes, some guy who comes on here trying to tell the forum that St James is a great choice of med school for a guy with a 3.5 GPA who hasn't taken any prereqs and merely fears the MCAT, and falls back on WHO accredition and rotation sites as evidence opens the door for everyone to explain how he's either a troll or missing the big picture. When he doesn't back down from that precarious false position, he gets gang beaten, for the sake if the integrity of this site.
and with a MCAT of 24R, would think you know everything.
If those were my real stats, would I really put them in my sig?
Actually you are right, let's go to St. James together. Maybe if we combine our eventual step 1 scores we can get a passing grade.
i think the mods are 😴 tonight
yes sorry
yes sorry
so you went and made another thread?

first and foremost i just came to get some feed back that's all. so just stop. it just information i'm seeking. would it be interesting if I said that " would like to attend Brown University, and my MCAT is 31 with GPA of 3.5?He came to this website equating St James and Brown, misusing words, and then started commenting about how Caribbean was cheaper than US schools, or how people who haven't already taken the prereqs in college don't get into med school. The govermental and insurance hurdles to open a new US med school and issue an MD are pretty monumental. In some of these islands a relatively modest payment to the right person gets it done. Then you just buy a cheap plot of land, throw up some prefab huts and call it a school, and start accepting anyone with a working credit card. This became a big cottage industry for a while, but the AAMC and LCME have pretty much gone to war on these, ramping up the number of US med students such that offshore schools won't be able to land spots in the very near future.
There was a program a few years back, widely discussed on SDN, called Stewart i believe, that tried to set up a supposedly WHO accredited school in California, and was ultimately unearthed as a scam.

Perhaps. But I'm a lame person in a US residency. You are afraid of the MCAT and can only dare to dream. A troll and a wannabe.
Trolling used to mean something back in the day.

You don't want to mess with someone who was a mod... Have some respect man. Oh wait! Your wisdom allows you to disrespect people. 👎

Agreed. Some of the better trolls back in the day played it close to the vest for months to years, racking up hundreds of posts before they outed themselves. These days some amateurs get pegged in their first thread. It's pretty sad, really. A loss of an art form. 🙂

Sorry Hun not a wannabe, I'm going to be doctor whether you like it or not. Like I said I'm here for advice. That's good you're a US residency, God bless you. I'm happy for you; but try and understand I'm only here seeking advice, information and encouragement. And at that level of education you should be smart enough to help someone instead of bringing them down or shaming them. Good luck my friend. SMHPerhaps. But I'm a lame person in a US residency. Stop lying. You said in the other thread you're not sure. Also, Law2Doc is a resident... so he knows what he's talking about more than you do. Anyhow, don't get too angry. Please enjoy the food I offered you. If you missed it, here it is: Enjoy!
