Sounds like a rejection to me. Just that it was worded in a way that made them sound like a douche bag, and the secretary realized it after she sent it. "Sorry....from Stanford" as the title. I'm guessing that they re-title it and send it again to the same folks.

Yea, really weird. It looks worse to rescind and then re-send another email worded slightly differently than to just leave it alone. Or, if they mistakenly sent it to some people they want to invite, they could send an invite and apology to only those people. They just look really disorganized right now.
