Does anybody know how many people usually get on the alternate list and how many people eventually get accepted from the alternate list for GW?

meaning a second/separate letter?
the "alternate list" is the waitlist. the waitlist isn't ranked, so there's no point in calling to find out where you stand. some people will be told they are at the top of the list, but that is a small group. other than that, i don't think there's anyway to gauge your chances, unfortunately. several of us in our class came off the waitlist - some of us from the top of the list, others from the regular pool. some of us were accepted from the list in mid-may; i know some people who were accepted in june, maybe even july (?). there's still plenty of time. what ever you decide to do to help your chances, it probably should be a bit more tactful than "bugging the admissions office every week." good luck.

GW is actually one of the schools known for not taking (many if any) people off the WL.
Can you give a rough estimate of about how many people were accepted off the wait list last year, and maybe how many people you expect were on the wait list.
Btw, I was referring to the letter they send to all alternate list people at this time! Haven't received that one.
