San Francisco has a lot of smart people, definitely more intelligent than Redneck areas of the country. I am becoming turned off from attending AZCOM because I found the locals to be a bunch of ignorant hillbillies, especially hearing constant anti-Mexican comments from locals.

RimpleDoc, SF may have a greater percentage of people who are educated, but I wouldn't say that makes them smart or intelligent. I value common sense and critical thinking and not how many Noam Chomsky books someone has read. I might go nuts living in San Francisco, too!

I think Touro CA has the highest average MCAT, around a 29, but they get a lot of people from Northern California, and that region has some of the smartest people in the country, its no surprise that innovative companies like Google and Apple operate in the region. Western is like a 27 as are most DO schools.

~28 ain't bad. But don't inflate numbers you have no basis for. That's just embarrassing.

Northern california doesn't have any more smart people than a number of other places in this country, that is a very ignorant thing to say. Why was Touro-CA's overall gpa significantly lower than most medical schools if this is the case? Its not really that impressive at all, in fact. Why are most of the students educated OUTSIDE of nor-cal? over 30% of the students aren't even from california at all. How in the hell would you know where the nor-cal kids are even from? Nor-cal is much bigger than just Silicon valley and Stanford. Most of it is fairly sparse outside of Sac and San Fran. Get your facts straight before you go posting some ignorant unresearched jibberish in a post.

I think more notably is that 5/10 those states are in the Northeast and 7/10 if you round Maryland and DC up, which a lot of people would do.

Also, how can you "terrorize" people that are breaking the law? I mean I personally don't care if people want to come over here and work. But since there are laws about how people are supposed to come over and apply for jobs here, then people sort of have to follow said laws. When they don't follow said laws, sheriffs tend to arrest them and law-abiding citizens tend to get upset.

Of course, if we made them come into the country the legal way, they would have to get paid the minimum wage. This, of course, would lead to both less people getting hired and an amazing increase in the price of agricultural goods. This would be a bad idea in the middle of a recession. And since no one will repeal minimum wage laws, they likewise won't enforce legal worker immigration, and they'll continue to force people to come over here illegally, at great risk, and also with the possibility that Sheriff Joe rounds them up (except he was recently prohibited from enforcing immigration actually).

Last I checked the United States has not committed systematic genocide of Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, or the disabled. I suppose it can be argued that we committed genocide against the Native Americans, and you can make a pretty good case for that. And given our embrace of Keynesian economics, the use of state propaganda, and the collusion between a powerful centralized government and large, monopolistic corporations, we do have structural similarities to Nazi Germany. That all said, I'm a bit perplexed as to how "hillbillies" in any way resemble Nazis. They're just people.

Let me make this easier for you. Since I might be going to AZCOM next year, DO NOT GO TO AZCOM! I would rather not risk having to spend significant time with someone who thinks they are above everyone else and generalizes people who are "ignorant hillbillies." You clearly think you are better than others because you're from northern Cali. Big whoop? Honestly, noone cares that you're from there, even if you think it's some big honor.
For one, everyone stereotypes, at least a little bit. It's just our brains way of categorizing familiar things together (we don't do it with ONLY people, you know). It's whether or not you actually base your actions or beliefs on these stereotypes that set you apart. Think about it, George Dumbya Bush wanted to ensure that no Muslim nation would possess WMD, he attacked Iraq, they didn't have any WMD. It turns out that Iran on the other hand does possess nuclear technology, he should have attacked Iran instead. So in essence our country started a war against the wrong nation. Minnesotans are mostly from Sweden and a few other Scandinavian countries. There are Scandinavians in other regions, Sarah Palin is of Finnish origin. Scandinavians have had their asses kicked by both Germans and Russians over the last couple of centuries. My origins are British, we could take any Scandinavian on with one hand tied behind our backs. Modern day Scandinavians are pansies, in Sweden women make their boyfriends sit on a toilet to pee .
