Thank you,

I have "something" in Fedex, coming from California, AB so I wonder if its RCSI ( had an interview) or something else.....

Great! Sounds like it is an offer. Keep us posted! 🙂

Congrats tilagtilag.

Could you share with us when/where did you have your interview with RCSI so we could get a sense on when to expect ours if we were lucky enough to be selected for an offer? Thank you.

Have you folks started to track your credit card authorization to watch for FedEx courier charges?

I just got a pending charge today from FEDEX and I am not sure if it is from ABP. I know I did not use my card anywhere for fedex. I called my cc but they have any info since it is still a pending charge. Maybe on Monday. Anybody else see any charge on their cc? I am applying to TCD 5-yr.

Congrats hrconnect

Anyone applied to the RCSI 6 year program, had an interview and got pending charges on their CC or called FedEx and something is coming their way?

1st round offers for UCD will be coming out this upcoming week just so you all are aware. This information is coming from Mr. O'Keeffe of the ABP.

Did you call FedEx and confirm if a package is being sent to you? Call 1800 GO FEDEX and push 1 for English and then 0 a bunch of times to talk to a person.

If yes- then congrats!

yeah so when i filled out my form I didn't choose the FedEx option. How much longer do you guys think it will take for my package to be sent to me? I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Congratulations! RCSI has a better reputation, although when we went visiting the college, we were not particularly impressed with the facilities.

Would anyone happen to know when UCD 1st round offers are going to arrive this week?

Really!?!? Finbar told me on Friday that they were coming out this week... I guess he was off by a couple weeks. hahaha...

Finbar was away today and it was someone else who replied to my email.

Where does UCD and Galway stand with interviews??

Does anyone know if you have to reject one offer before your next offer is sent out? So for example if you DID get accepted to 2 schools but have yet to receive the 2nd offer, will you only receive the 2nd offer after you reject the 1st?

Thanks 👍

From what I have read and understand, you can receive multiple offers of admission before deciding which you choose to accept. Refer to FAQs on the ABP website under "Q: Can I receive an offer of admissions from more than one school?":

http://www.atlanticbridge.com/med/faq/

Cheers.

i was told for 4 yr programs you can accept multiple but not for 5/6 yr.

From what I have heard, I do not think that you have the luxury to accept more than one even if you have multiple offers. There is only a very narrow window of time that they give you to pay your deposits before you loose the offer and the deposit is around $6000 a piece!🙁

Same for me! I just wish I knew if I should expect any more offers, although it seems like getting more than one is unusual. My heart's pretty set on Dublin, although my main concern is matching back in Canada once I'm done.

I totally agree...i'm going to try and contact Cork to see if they have any students I can speak with and match stats.

My bad. It wasn't from ABP. Sorry for the false alarm. I sent an email to ABP today asking about when TCD decisions will come out and they said it will be around first week of April - so two more weeks to wait. Good luck everythone who is applying to TCD!!

I received the offer yesterday and the authorization on my credit card just appeared now. Obviously the credit card authorization checking did not work all the time.

Agreed. I guess the most reliable way to find out would be to call FedEx.

Any word on when NUIG, UCD, or UL will be sending out offers? Or, in UL's case, interview invites?

When I called this morning they said UCD were sent out today, Galway and trinity expected early April and limerick interview invites end of April.

Hi there!

Do you mean UCD offers have been sent out to the recipients or that they were sent from UCD to the ABP? As well, do you know if you receive the email FedEx confirmation as soon as they send the package out, or does the email come after some sort of delay?

- Cheers

Has anyone actually received an email to confirm FedEx en route (for UCD offer)?

Hi everyone!

I received my acceptance to UCD's 5yr program today! I am very excited to get the ball rolling and to meet fellow UCD medical students in 2013!

Good luck to all, and if anyone would like my stats or other info about the application process, don't hesitate to contact me.

Cheers

I also applied to that program, as well as every other 5 year and GEP program but still have not heard from anyone. Not even any interviews. Would you mind posting your stats so i know what I'm being compared to?

Thanks for the reply! I'm so nervous about this whole process. Your grades are better than mine (I applied with a 3.4) however I feel that I have strong EC's. I actually have an interview tomorrow for a med school in Ontario which would be my ideal choice, however I would like the comfort of knowing that I'll be accepted to a school in Ireland as a back up. I think that the 5 year schools didn't get my application yet since the GEP are waiting on me to write the MCAT, which won't be till the end of April. I might e-mail ABP next weekend if I don't hear anything soon. But congrats and I wish you all the luck 🙂

Just got my acceptance into the Boston University 7-year accelerated Liberal Arts Medical Education Program (BA/MD). Still waiting for Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute/Albany Medical College 7-year physician scientist training program. So I will definitely not be accepting my offer for BMedSci/MB ChB program rom St Andrews, Scotland or if I am accepted into either UCD or NUI Galway. 🙂

SJLIM, out of curiosity what is making you choose to stay in the States versus going to UK/Ireland?

Congrats, SJLIM ... that sounds like a fantastic opportunity for someone who's decided at your stage that you want to do medicine!

For my Irish applications, I'm waiting to hear back from UCD and UL. I was accepted to UCC (thrilled) and rejected from RCSI (not thrilled). I will say that the school UCC seems to be a good fit for me, academically at least.

Thank you. I am originally from the UK and my father is a British-trained physician scientist (MD/PhD). Studying abroad is exciting and I like the idea. That was why I applied and of course I was also worried I might not get into any of the US BS/MD program. Now that I have been accepted into at least one of the US programs, I have decided to stay back in the US since I am thinking about matching for residency program, especially when I hope to apply for the new US six-year combined cardiothoracic surgery program and there are only around 20 places available in this country currently. 😉

Congrats, guess i won't be seeing you next year, but for sure BS/MD > UK medical school in terms of matching back. You wouldn't have a shot at a CT surgery program if you went abroad.

Hi elbu,

I received a photocopy of the acceptance letter to UCD via email and I am waiting on the hard copy to come early this week. As well, I did opt for the FedEx courier option.

Cheers
