Yes, my dad wants me to go to Albany, but I would rather go to BU. I think Albany is nice but I do not like Troy, where Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute is and I will have to spend three years there before going to Albany.
ah gotcha. have you heard from UCD?

got one from RCSI
Going to attend? We were at RCSI last summer and was not very impressed with the facilities. If you get Galway, Cork, Trinity or Limerick, you would probably be better of there.
Hey SJ - I got into the 6 yr NUIG program , why do you like it above RCSI ?
The facilities are not very impressive and there is a lack of college atmosphere. Most of the professors are part-time and the teaching hospitals the college uses are not the top hospitals in Dublin. I went to visit in the summer and after visiting, decided to only apply to Galway and UCD, not knowing that I could have applied to Trinity (probably the best of them all, very nice campus with good reputation).
Thanks SJ , then Galway it is for me then , I am waitlisted for the RCSI 5 yr program , but I guess I cant wait for it and loose the NUIG offer too.
I just received my fedex package for the 6 year program at NUIG. I didn't receive any emails or notification from ABP prior to receiving the acceptance package. Does anybody know how it compares to UCD? I think I'm going to submit my deposit just to save my spot on the list, but if I do am I automatically not considered for other universities?
Thanks for your reply SJLIM! Regarding the deposit, I am fully aware that the 4000 euros will go down the drain if I submit it for NUIG and decide to accept the offer from potentially UCD. I guess my real question is: Is it worth putting 4000 euros down the drain for UCD? I thought that UCD may be in fact worth it because it is located in Dublin, which may bring me better opportunities and connections. Also, just as a curious thought, have you visited these campuses before? I haven't gone to see them yet so I'm kind of relying on forums to get all of my information. Thanks!I did not get any email either. Being in Dublin, UCD will always be considered a more popular than NUI Galway. Unfortunately the top teaching hospitals in Dublin have already been taken by students from Trinity. So, Galway may actually be better. You mentioned putting in a deposit, but the 4000 Euro is not refundable if you decide to attend and decide to go to other colleges.

even though I'm from cork I have family in both cities🙂 congrats on getting accepted and feel free to ask anything you can think of!
Apparently Trinity will be releasing first round offers soon. Anyone received one yet?
Nope, I still haven't received anything.
By all first round offers they meant for all programs. I'm also waiting on the 5 year from NUIG and TCD that's why I emailed them.
Well, I guess that means I didn't get anything from NUIG as the first round offers seems to have gone out already. Hopefully there'll be a 2nd round of offers 🙁... still waiting to hear from Trinity 😕
So it is now the end of early April. Anyone had a word from ABP about TCD acceptance?
by the way I was told by ABP.
Anything? Acceptances or otherwise.
Rejection letter from RCSI dated today, April 10th. Was not offered a first-round TCD offer, nor one from UCD or NUIG. Things look hazy for me to say the least.
I'm sorry to hear that 🙁
I hope this isn't insensitive, but how was the rejection letter delivered? Just in case I should be looking out for something myself ...
I am sorry about the rejection from RCSI. I must admit I am surprised. I looked at your stats and thought that they are more than competitive for RCSI and NUIG, although I thought you might have some problem with TCD. Keep us posted and all the best.Rejection letter from RCSI dated today, April 10th. Was not offered a first-round TCD offer, nor one from UCD or NUIG. Things look hazy for me to say the least.
I received the same strange email for TCD. After emailing them, I received a username and password along with a conditional offer (based on maintaining at 3.3 GPA). I haven't received anything in the mail from ABP though.
Congrats!
I haven't heard anything from ABP either, but I did get an automated message from TCD registry telling me to log into my portal (even though no username or password were provided). Did anyone else get this strange email?
Hey! I got the same thing on Monday. Contacted ABP and TCD and they were very receptive in providing me with the login. Hope good news comes your way.👍
1st round offer for me at TCD. In my 4th year of BMSc at UWO. Any other Canadians considering accepting it? Any advice for someone that wants (will be) to come back to Canada for residency? Any info on match rates, or how good TCD is? It looks like a great school from what I've been reading on the forums....
Thanks 🙂 Good luck to everyone! Keep your head up - everything works out in the end, one way or another.
