Just wondering if I should save a lot of money here, any thoughts?
Should I only apply to Texas schools? Or should I apply broad by applying out of state?

oGPA 3.65 sGPA 3.83 21 AA 22 TS 25 PAT
120 hours hospital volunteer
50 hours shadowing
1 year research no pubs
1.5 years of science tutor at university
30 hours highschool tutor volunteer
good LORs
an ok personal statement, nothing engaging like some i've read

Would this merit an application only for the 3 Texas schools?
Thanks!

I'd say you would be safe applying only instate. You could throw in a random OOS school if you wanted. Better safe than sorry.

Apply some cheap out of state public schools like Buffalo. San Antonio COA is around 230k and Buffalo is around 300k? Not that huge of a difference compared to private schools.

I'd say apply for some OOS ones as well; Texas schools are notoriously selective and choose their class from an extremely competitive pool of applicants.

I would not risk applying only to Texas schools, apply to some out of state schools but only apply to states you would not mind living in. Also consider cost of attendance when choosing schools.

That's the thing, I only want to stay in Texas. I know i'm being too picky but realistically if I were to get in out of state but not in state I would reapply next year to texas... idk i'll have to think it more through but thanks all for replies

You have the best shots at getting into a TX school anyway.. Just apply only there.. Your stats are good enough.
