figured we needed a dedicated space for streampaw to ask all those insightful questions
Think through it logically. Having an MD/PhD, you have more education (and possibly more experience) What do you logically think will be the result of such?I have another question which I posted in the allopathic forum, will getting an MD/PhD increase my chances of matching into dermatology? Instead of just getting an MD
Why would MD/PhD's go into derm?I have another question which I posted in the allopathic forum, will getting an MD/PhD increase my chances of matching into dermatology? Instead of just getting an MD

I am a girl.... But alright, so I guess it does give you a better chance of matching into derm if you do md/phd. Alright, thanks guys.More degrees = chicks, money, power, and chicks
Dermatology = chicks, money, power, and chicks
Therefore, more degrees = dermatology.

that sucks. you have a better shot at dermatology if you are a guy.
Predicting your next question about sex change, the answer is yes it is possible, and it will 100% increase your chances.

The library is now wondering why I'm laughing my butt off. Quality post.I'm just going to give you a heads up since you are still figuring things out: if you want to match in derm, you have to be really, really good-looking. It's true. In order to be successful in your chosen path, you will need to take this into consideration. The standard benchmark we use around here for your likelihood of matching into dermatology is
Step 1 * LizzyM score * looks (0-10/10)
Your score on this metric, known as the "DermBucks" scale, needs to be around 83,200 in order for you to have a fighting chance to become a dermatologist. So remember, study hard, get your ECs in, and do everything you possibly can to make yourself more physically attractive - you'll be rolling in the DermBucks in no time!
Good luck!
That sounds like a good plan. You should work hard towards fulfilling it. It is always possible to reach those pipe dreams. Don't give up!OK, so OP's expectations are completely ridiculous; I think we've all mostly agreed there.
But come on...I bet most of us have some crazy, ridiculous dreams that we know will 99% never come to pass (that being the crucial difference)!
I say we honor streampaw's prolific planning posts by spewing out some of our own secret crazy future plans, just for fun!
Sooo....
I'm currently super obsessed with pediatric CT surgery. The actual procedures seem to be practically an art form AND it has one of the best patient bases I could imagine (seriously, you get to fix a kid's heart and give them the chance for an entire freaking life!) It's pretty much all hands-on (not as much lap work), you get to work with kids without the majority of your patients' main affliction being helicopter parents. There's a pedsCT YouTube channel that's phenomenal; it's crazy watching someone completely re-structure the heart and then seeing a toddler come out of it whole. Of course, it also requires ridiculous years in fellowship in competitive subspecialties and then somehow finding the right job, but...
Current pipe-dream plans (I'm still 6mo out from taking the MCAT): Rock a 40+ (lol), get into an east coast school with my mediocre ugrad GPA. Somehow maneuver into the residency and fellowships I need. Maybe meet someone in this whole long process (who knows?). I won't marry them unless they insist, but I DO want to adopt kids someday (there are too many kids that need homes for me to feel comfortable with my own predilection towards using my personal genetic material...also pregnancy=eww AND inconvenient). Oh, and magically my mother will come live near my due to the utter adorableness of her grandbabies, and therefore will be available for free babysitting pretty much whenever I need due to my overloaded schedule. Life. Won.

LOL that's your formula to get chicks.More degrees = chicks, money, power, and chicks
Dermatology = chicks, money, power, and chicks
Therefore, more degrees = dermatology.
It's from a bookstreampaw, what does your name mean?
I am legit. I already told people.I am beginning to think steampow is legit. Y U DO DIS TO MEH
Bro, that ain't my formula. It's a law of nature. Of the universe. Deal with it.LOL that's your formula to get chicks.

Well obviously I'm gonna make it; I just don't want the rest of you suckers to feel bad. My supposed humility is actually just a front to lure people in so I can practice being empathetic with other humans.Nice try, but you are too humble!! Give yourself more credit when making crazy future plans. The fact that you even called them "pipe-dream" is your first mistake. Be assertive that everything will happen as you hope, not "may happen"!!
Still not as amusing/childhood-memory-tarnishing as the guy comparing himself to Ender Wiggin.Redwall?

Got those kids names picked out?
Easy. Have dad paythe only question that hasn't been asked is "when is the best time to get married and can you pay for it without going into debt?".
Easy. Have dad pay
?Her dad is in Russia!
You said your real dad was in Russia when you asked us if you were educationally disadvantaged.
Hey guys, another question! I posted a question in the radiology forum. My question is, how many hours per week do academic radiologists work, and how much pay do they take home per year?
And also, can non-academic radiologists choose to work 30 hours a week, and still take home at least 180k a year? Thanks guys.

Instead of posting a face, could you please post an answer to my question? This thread is dedicated to my questions, after all. Don't like it, don't read the thread 🙂 Simple
Yes, but it only comes up with info for interventional radiologistsSeriously have you tried googling any of this?
