Hey guys,

I'm currently a junior.

Would it reflect poorly if I took 3 physiology classes at the same time this semester? It would be a 2000, 3000 and 4000 level classes.

2000: Physiology of Disease
3000: Anatomy & Physiology
4000: Advanced Physiology

All three classes cover the same content.

Given that I get an A in all of these classes, would it look suspicious that I've taken essentially the same course 3 times in a semester?

Of note: I also took a 3000 level physiology course last semester. So I will have a total of 4 physiology classes this year.

Thanks

If they cover the same content, my guess is that they build upon one another. In that case, you'd kinda be shooting yourself in the foot to take the upper-level course before completing the groundwork-laying course.

But if you can take them simultaneously and still get good grades, I seriously doubt an adcom would bat an eye.

It will reflect poorly if you didn’t do well on them.

Yea I guess I should rephrase my question.

Given that I get an A in all of these classes, would it look suspicious that I've taken essentially the same course 3 times in a semester?

Would it look suspicious that I've taken so much physiology (given that I get an A in all of these classes)?
My suspicions that you really like physiology would be confirmed.

3 physiology classes at the same time*

@HomeSkool This is probably a dumb question but would you reckon that "Physiology of Disease" would essentially be Immunology?

Is that a good thing? Or could it be bad since some adcoms might think I'm not diversified?
My use of "suspicions" was facetious. Don't overthink this. Adcoms won't give a flying donkey crap about how many physiology classes you take.

Not a dumb question at all. Physiology of Disease looks at the physiologic derangements of organ systems and of the whole body in various disease states. It isn't limited to infectious or immunologic disease.

One semester I took anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, each as different classes. The remarkable amount of overlap was super helpful in understanding how things go together. I.e. when we were learning about the respiratory system in anatomy, we were going over hemoglobin in biochemistry and the circulatory system in physiology. Taking classes with overlap is a good idea in my mind. Things are fresh in your mind and when they are related, they seem to make more sense (IMO at least).
