Hey guys,
I'm really considering actually I most likely will apply to TCOM but was hoping that someone from Texas could tell me how competitive they felt admissions were? TCOM I think is the only school that doesn't do grade replacement, so do they compensate for that or what? Any type of information really would be helpful!
Thanks in advance🙂

TCOM is one of the more-competitive DO schools.

Since they get state funds, they have to accept I believe 85% of in-state applicants. OOS applicants should have extremely competitive stats.

They are also the least-expensive school. Only $13K a year in-state. (I think about $20K if you figure in extras.)

Sucks for those of us Texans who are using grade replacement!

Here's last years stats: http://web.unthsc.edu/info/200679/admissions_and_outreach/1547/entering_class_statistics

Furthermore, the TMDSAS application opens 5/1. If you haven't submitted it by now, you're really late in the Texas cycle. Something to consider.

In that case, you're good to start looking early. If your numbers are in the range of their averages, you've got plenty of time to get some good DO shadowing in. Apparently, they like the idea of finding 'the diamond in the rough', so who knows.
