ha no I can totally relate to how you feel. Believe me I've been there (about an hour ago!). Check out Drexel's IMS program. It is like "baby med school" in a very artificial way. That's not to dumb it down at all because you are in med school and you have to do well! But the thing is that you aren't going for an MD degree .. it's a program intermediate step .. just check it out!

I didn't get an email for a coupla days after I was accepted off the waitlist (last week) - just keep checking for updates on the online status stuff (once you pay your 100 bucks there will be more information available).

Yea for Temple 2012...
 
i paid the $100 and the website is letting me pay the $100 fee multiple times if I want .. riiiiight .. I'm sure it'll send eventually .. hey doctor311 are you going for sure? I think I am too .. do you have a roommate yet in mind?
 
Yea, Im going for sure. Not sure about the roommate situation yet - I am looking into housing at the graduate housing. As of now I have no clue where I will be or if it will be a single room or not. ? Ill post more when I know.

Hello all. I need some help with the rooming situation. I check out with the Graduate housing and they are currently full.
I also looked at the apartments at "the Edge, Oxford Village, Kardon and University village" and they all left with shared bedrooms avalible.
I really don't mind rooming with my classmates.
anybody in the same situation?

Thanks!, it does feel great, although i am a little concerned because I just received a letter saying that I have been placed at Danville's Geisinger for 3rd and 4th year clinicals. I was under the impression from the secondary app that we could decided/figure this stuff out much later (close to the start of 3rd year). this is a little bit of a worry.

Hey, I felt the same when I found out I am doing the clinicals in Danville. Someone else posted saying something to the effect that clinical spots at first filled at Temple and then on to other Affiliates. I checked out the website for Geisinger and it seems legit - and you also get free housing if you do clinicals anywhere other than Temple Hospital for 3/4 years. FYI Danville is about 2.5 hours inland of Philly. I was a little concerning cos its far away, but I am happy just to be going to med school. Hope this helped.
 
I didn't get any letter about my clinical site for 3/4 year. what does this mean?
 
I am still waiting, guessing the next bunch go out tomorrow? What do ya think my chances are GPA 3.628 MCAT: (was initially 29M 11P 6V 12B went to 32Q with retake) 11-P 10-V 11-B W-Q... also my bro is a first year, but I don't think that will help me any

Seems like the waitlist movement is decreasing each week, so i'm trying hard to get prepared for 2009 cycle.... but it is so hard to try and kill hope.
 
yea i'm pretty much freaked... this whole process is dreadful

are you re-doing your entire personal statement or are you going to make adjustments to it as it stands for your amcas app?

haha i was just about to ask the same question.

I'm not sure. I just finished writing a really rough draft of a new PS, but it's horrible. I want to use my old PS with a few modifications here and there, but everyone is placing such a stigma on recycling your PS. I guess it's because the adcomms take it that you are "lazy" or "unmotivated".

But if your first PS/application got you several interviews... would it be ok to reuse it (+ a few changes)?

Sure am. Dread with a splash of hope. Im still waiting for my post-interview decision ...

Rewriting the PS, asking professors for update letters and interviewing agains sounds excruciatingly painful ...

yea I think I will rewrite as well for the same reason, but my essay was stellar and I will be hard pressed to top it... if only I had gotten my MCAT scores earlier...🙁

lets not slay all hope yet though...
 
This was my second yr applying to Temple. During my 2nd interview, the interviewer specifically mentioned notes that were placed in my file from the interviewer I had for the first application. If they do in fact keep your PS in a file at the school along with these notes and the rest of your previous application, and you choose to re-apply to that school, your second interviewer would then definitely see that you didn't put much thought into a recycled PS.

temple sends out acceptances on thursdays; you shouldn't have heard anything

Ya, i wonder if this batch just happened to be non-SDN people. Or maybe they had no spots available this week?

its either that they didn't send any or the SDN bunch didn't get any, but I don't think they are out of spots just yet.

perhaps they pushed the reviewing back to friday with monday being a holiday and all?
 
i'd prefer to get into one of my state schools at which i am waitlisted at.. if that happens then i will be withdrawing from temple!
 
the acceptance emails got delayed for last thursdays group, so perhaps the response will be pushed back as well, hence the signs of no one getting accepted today
 
still waiting, but i was wondering were people's letter informing them that they were being placed on the CCL positive, neutral or negative?
 
got in today first acceptance!!! found out by the status change online no email yet though!!! Some of you had to wait a few days for the email right?
