I live in Chesapeake, VA now, I finished at UVA in 07. This is my second round of applying and don't know if I have another in me. How about you? Where are you from?

anybody know where the "pre-orientation information" on TempleMedOnline is found or do you have to pay the $100 first before it shows up?
 
Should be under the Home tab when you login to TempleMedOnline.

Initially when I sign on it just says Welcome to Temple Med Online... then if I click the "home" tab, it has the same stuff as my "accepted" tab. It's simply like an acceptance letter of sorts, the video, and he ability to pay the fee. I got the email and just paid the $100 at 7pm tonight. Maybe that has to go through first?

nm came through when deposit processed.

I was accepted on Tuesday! Just when I didn't think it was going to happen for me, I got a huge surprise. Thanks to all of you who dropped! Hopefully some more of us get in from SDN.

Wow, congrats. So they really waited until your grades from this semester were in?
 
To the people who got off the waitlist, how much were you interacting with the admissions before you got the acceptance? I just don't know how much to bother them, or who to speak with specifically.

Yeah, I guess so. I called once right around May 20, and was told that they couldn't tell me anymore information than I could see online. Didn't hear from them again until Tuesday. Not really sure what to tell other waitlisters. I know that when I interviewed, I was told I was interviewing only for a waitlist spot, but was never put on the waitlist.

To be honest, this whole process baffles me. Schools where my numbers were way above their averages and I thought I had outstanding interviews, denied me flat out.
 
Status finally changed to correspondence mailed. I guess the adcom is still meeting on Thursdays, for what it's worth ... guess its take a week off and fire up amcas again ...

Eh... I think i really need to start getting realistic and reevaluate everything. You guys have such amazing stats/apps that i'm pretty sure i'm at the very bottom if not last position on the waitlist. Oh well. It is what it is.

hey everyone! i got in yesterday! i was on the CCL list- interviewed in Feb and my status page changed to accepted- hopefully theres more movement!

I have a 29 MCAT and I got in off the waitlist late may. So there's hope.

I dont see anything on SDN after about June 22 over the last 5 years. I dont see anything at all for last year. Although I guess just because its not on SDN doesnt mean it hasnt happened ...

About as positive a waitlist can get. "Congratulations ..." I assumed everyone's was the same ...
 
Possible that Temple is moving its WL every other week now, or just down to a sporadic trickle?
 
i know this is a sketchy way to view things, but I'm looking at the number of kids in the TUSM C/O 2012 facebook group to get an idea of how many spots remain. Of course, that method can show you a bare minimum of spots available. I know at least one temple M1 student who isn't even on facebook and another who is on facebook but not in the group .. right now it's at 121 members .. i'm not sure what the class size usually is either.

at any rate, if you're looking for a coarse way of ascertaining how many spots are left, that's one method.

ha ha, thanks for the suggestion and for helping us WLers cary the obsession torch even though you're already in! You're not forgetting your roots ...

Looks like the 2011 class was 178 kids and their facebook group has 135 members. But not sure how many of them had signed up by July 1 so I dont think this methods going to tell us how many seats are left. But some i hope, and interesting to look at ...
 
We started with 182 in the class of 2011 but 2 people dropped out that I know of. I wonder who the other 2 are? keep in mind some people arent in the group and several people in my class arent even in facebook. I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of the ones on facebook are in that grout though. There probably is still a little activity in the waitlist. I think students can be added all the way up through the end of the orientation week for you guys (i.e. right b4 classes).

Thanks for the info! I got the class size from the admissions office's website. Put in a good word for me and Bahadur, hope you're having a good experience at Temple!

yea like I said it's a very coarse measurement and can let you know only the minimum number of seats taken. Also, I think that what you're doing is smart: calling them and continuing to show interest. I read somewhere two things once: (1) Someone got a call from Temple saying that if they continued to show interest their chances would be good, even though presently they were on the CCL; (2) In general, letters of interest and intent go a long way because near the end of summer the med schools want to fill the remaining seats with individuals they know won't withdraw post-acceptance.
 
Any recent CCL movement? Or does it look like it's pretty much done for the year?

I saw someone (in the 2012 class thread) say they withdrew last tuesday. Havent heard anyone getting that spot though. Beggining ... to .... lose ...... all ...........
 
In recent years, I've heard that they accept about 1/3 of the class from the waitlist, but it doesn't seem that it's moving much at all this year. Do you think they just accepted more people outright in anticipation, or will movement start to pick up closer to the start of classes?

You'll definitely be fine. As long as they're assured that you'll take the course before you matriculate, it won't hurt you.

Last cycle I was in the same situation. I applied without having taken Organic 2 Lab. I simply told them I was taking it in the Spring, and I got an interview on Oct. 1.

Don't worry about it.

I spoke with Maria last month, last week, and finally today (She suggested calling back at these intervals). As of now, she said, the class is over full and it doesn't look like they will be taking anybody else from the waitlist this year. Just thought you (and other readers) might like to know 😛

This, of course, doesn't negate the possibility of waitlist movement, but in my mind, hearing this makes it a less stressful decision to dish out big $$ for all the secondaries.

To everyone, I sent in my application about three weeks ago to Temple and they received it. I just want to know for all the people who got accepted, on wait list, what GPA and SAT scores did you have when you sent in your application. I want to know this because my GPA is a 3.76 but my SAT scores are low mostly because I'm not a good test taker epically when I'm under pressure.

lol no, i took the right test i just wanted to know what gpa and sat scores people who got accepted had
 
The reason we're asking if you took the right test is that Med Schools look at the MCAT, not the SAT (though at least one wanted my SAT score. Why, I have no idea.)

It sounds like you're asking about their undergrad program, which is probably outside the scope of knowledge of most of the people here. If that's what you're looking for, you might want to try HSdn.

😕 Please pardon my rudeness, but why are you on Student DOCTOR Network then? I wouldn't think this would be the best place to ask your particular question.
 
just got back from temple interview-- they specifically said they have been backed up more than normal but are trying to get a handle on it. Also, they have accepted about 1/2 of their class... fridays are commitee meeting days, so u can expect to hear back early in the week if ever. and also, they are taking a two week recess here at the end of jan. so be ready to wait some more on decisions.
