Does anyone know of any good resources for preparing for the MMI style interview?
There is a recent interview/YouTube video featuring Dean Elizabeth Crouch that should give you some good tips for interview prep

If anyone has any questions (that I am allowed to answer so no specifics on interviews), feel free to reach out for my thoughts or advice.

Not to get ahead of myself too much, but recommendations for areas to live in College Station would be great 🙂

Interview-wise, I'm anticipating it to be similar to the CASPer test format-wise, would you say that's about right?

TIA! 🙂

Has anyone received the email to set up their Kira Talent profile yet? The interview invite said we should have gotten this by today, but I haven’t seen anything yet.

I know it’s technically still morning but I was wondering if anyone got the email yet? Sorry if this is annoying lol, I am just antsy to see the practice questions, thank you!

update: got it! good luck everyone!

I was curious if anyone tried out the Kira platform and how they felt about it! I started the process but didn't dive into the practice questions yet. I'm volunteering with Greater Good through Monday if anyone wants to come out and help with a large spay neuter campaign!

As far as I can see, there are just two practice questions when I set it up last night. It reminds me very much of the CASPer formatting from what I can tell.

Good luck everyone!! To those that are interested, I saw that a 3rd year TAMU vet student posted they talked to someone on admissions and they got over 1200 applications, interviewing 360 and accepting 180. It is a 50/50 chance of getting in after interviews! 🙂

Just completed my interview! I enjoyed it, but naturally have my doubts about some answers. Good luck guys. 😊

I feel like looking at myself in the video is what threw me off! I almost wish they left the person asking the question up so I could pretend I was interacting with a human. Overall, it was a great experience to this point! Hoping for the best for everyone 🙏 💓

Hello and Merry Christmas to everyone!! I am a current 1VM at Texas A&M University and here to answer any questions if you had any. Please feel free to reach out if need be. Last year we heard back about our acceptances on the 3rd week of January. There is a lot of hurry up and wait in the veterinary process, but I have high hopes for all of you!! Good luck and have a happy holidays.

Hey y'all, I'm requesting my transcripts through Parchment for TAMU. TMDSAS says "A Transcript Request Form is strongly recommended to ensure TMDSAS can quickly match your transcript(s) to your application." I don't remember one of my student ID's from undergrad, so I can't submit a transcript request form. I assume this is okay, since it says "strongly recommended"?

I didn't remember one of mine either (I'm a non-trad, and one school was over a decade ago). I contacted the school and got that information and then did a request form. I'm mostly paranoid because I have so many transcripts that I don't want to lose any of them along the way though. I think others have submitted transcripts without it and been fine in the past.

I did not fill out a transcript request form and all of my updated transcripts have been processed and approved by TMDSAS.

Thank you! This is going to be a stressful month but I'm trying to just take it day by day and appreciate the fact that I'm in this position at all. Plus, if I do get accepted, life is gonna change big time so trying to take time to be ~present~

I totally understand the stressful aspect of things. No one really understands the rigors of preparing for veterinary school. You made it this far!! I would like to say that if you guys choose to come here it is genuinely amazing the amount of support that you do have. No one is in competition with one another. The biggest thing you will face is imposter syndrome. C or A you still get the same degree😉. Take your time to relax because your first year is NO JOKE, however, it is something to look forward to.

I wanted to share my experience from today. A co-worker needed to bring their cat to Texas A&M’s small animal hospital, and I was fortunate enough to schedule a tour through the veterinary program while I was there with her. It was such a great experience!

Our student ambassador was incredibly kind and helpful, walking us through the facilities and answering all our questions. They mentioned that today’s tour was similar to what accepted or waitlisted students will experience on February 15th, which gave me a lot of insight into what to expect.

It was so inspiring to see the college in action, observe the collaboration between faculty and students, and get a sense of the community there. I feel more motivated than ever to pursue this journey.

To anyone applying, waiting, or even feeling unsure, know that the support and encouragement offered here is real. The environment is welcoming, and it felt like a place where everyone genuinely wants you to succeed. If you’re feeling nervous or stuck, hang in there, we’ve got this!

Does TAMU give application reviews? :/ I am instate and was rejected sadly but when I emailed them they told me to try and go to their zoom they will have later which is an “application workshop” to be able to compare yourself to the successful applicants.

Before I applied here though I already compared myself and really thought I had a chance but I did not even get an interview so im not sure what to improve besides needing more vet experience hours but besides that, I have a 3.9 cGPA, 3.7 sGPA, 398 vet hours, 725 animal hours, 500 research hours, 6 letters of rec (2 vets, 2 PhD, 1 science college director, 1 researcher).

I have been accepted already to “more competitive” schools but it makes me wonder if I input something wrong on my application through TMDSAS or something. Anyways all this to say, I wish they did reviews.

My research on the website shows TAMU uses a point-based selection system that weighs GPA, vet/animal experience, interviews, and achievements. Since vet hours are significant (10-15%), boosting them might help.

The application workshop could clarify how TAMU evaluates applications, and you might discover areas for improvement beyond hours. You’re clearly a competitive candidate! Good luck with your other offers!

I'm so sorry. I've been in your shoes before. My stats are less impressive than yours (3.7 cGPA, 2,000+ vet hours, and the other stats I won't bore you with), but I was also shocked that I was straight up rejected last cycle. I didn't attend the application workshop, but I did receive a file review which wasn't all that helpful to be honest. BUT it did show me that I maxed out in all possible hours, it's just my GPA was average or slightly lower than other successful applicants. I applied again, and got an interview this cycle. If I would've gotten into schools last cycle, I obviously would've went there because every cycle is unpredictable. You're clearly an amazing applicant and should be very proud of yourself for getting acceptances!!

Do we know when decisions will be released?
Last year they were sent out on January 24th. My guess is the last week of January, but it’s possible we hear back next week. Earlier would be nice for those who would need to plan a trip for admitted students day.

Is anyone else unable to long onto the TAMU portal? It lets me log on and then takes me to a page that says “Forbidden: Access is denied”. Same this is happening to my friend who also applied this cycle.

Do you mean where we input our information for the second application?
My VMBS Admissions Dashboard is accessible but the supplemental application area shows forbidden if that helps at all.

I can't get into my portal either, it also gives me the forbidden / using credentials alert but this is NOT the supplemental portal, it's the main portal where you see your GPA / pre reqs / interview status.

Hey everyone! It looks like Texas Tech made their acceptance calls on Friday. Big congrats to everyone who got in! 🎉 Hoping we’ll hear something from Texas A&M in the next two weeks.

To make the waiting a little more fun, I thought we could play a guessing game! Drop your predictions for when we’ll hear from TAMU, and the winner gets a little gift mailed to them from me. Let’s make this wait more entertaining!

I vote January 28th 🗳 🤗

January 22nd! Although the weather coming through southeast Texas might jack that up.

I'm feeling January 28th too!

My prediction has always been Jan twenty fourth! (It’s not letting me do a number without those weird [emoji] things LOL)

I am guessing the 23rd! Also, is anyone else a little nervous about booking hotels until after they send out decisions? I also will have to fly into College Station so also debating just booking the flight now haha.
