for those who are waiting for interview invite, I called the admission office and the person said about 215 ppl got invited so far, and as the week go by more and more people will get invited. So im guessing another 35-45 spots might be still open.

Wish the best of luck to those interviewing

If you guys post when you're interviewing, I'm pretty sure we could get a group together to go grab lunch, unless you plan on high-tailing it out of scenic Kingsville.

Who's up for lunch tomorrow (Thursday)?

Sounds cool! Post when and where 🙂

Good luck on the interviews tomorrow everyone!

I'll be doing some interviews tomorrow, please don't hyperventilate or cry or anything... there's always 1-2. It makes things awkward.😎

And pharmB... you never have lunch with me but here you are making plans with complete strangers? Not cool.

I'm driving down Thursday night from College Station for my inteview on Friday at 1PM. Anyone going to be there at the same time? I haven't seen many people post that they have an interview on Friday, just a lot of Thursdays.

Pharm B, I would be down for lunch on Friday but it would have to be after my interview unless we were able to meet up right around noon.

That's alright Z, I have to cancel today anyway. We have a quiz in Pharmacoepidemiology and a quiz in Ceutics lab. And you didn't come to lunch when we invited you last time.

We'll see on Friday.

I'll also be seeing some of you in interviews.

PS, don't PM me about this. If you have questions, post it here for all to see. We'll answer if we can.

I think my interview today went okay. I feel like I could of done better. I thought of a lot of things to say after I left the room and my essay was probably terrible because it just wasn't a lot of time. However, everyone was so nice there! I felt so nervous but I started to ease up later on.

Dr. Roberston said that acceptances should go out in early March. There are 250 interviewed and 87 are accepted.

Best of luck to everyone who is interviewing next. You'll def. love the people there. The Mexican food is awesome too!!!

That's sounds about right, honestly. I felt like I could've said more, but well, in retrospect, what was more important was said already. I'm glad that you were able to relax later on. Maybe you should change your screenname?

Since last year our letters came in April while our interviews were in March, the timeframe seems to match up. Unless they've changed things, keep an eye out on the email you provided them. You'll also get a package by snail mail not to long afterwards.

Good luck to you! I'm sure you did fine!

So did they let you type on PC or write on paper? for 30 mins?

I'm glad acceptance goes out early for A&M.

People have actually cried? Do they cry because the interview is brutal or for some other reason?

If you got an interview on the first day does it mean you are ranked higher?

You can ask the people that interviewed yesterday, the interview is pretty laid back here. I think people's nerves/emotions just get the best of them sometimes.

If you got an interview on the first day does it mean you are ranked higher?

I REALLY don't think so. I'm pretty sure it's random. (Not sure if anyone can confirm/deny this).

I hope everyone that interviewed yesterday enjoyed their interviews and the school! Good luck to people interviewing today (of of course the ones the next 2 weeks too!) :xf:

From what I hear, some people don't even talk in their interviews because they're too bl--dy nervous. It's not really high stress, compared to interviews at the University of Houston or the Texas Tech University. They probably cry because they can't get rid of the nerves. The most important thing is to go in confidently (without being cocky) and calm. The fact you're interviewing means you have something that those who aren't interviewing don't. They want to know about you, and you SHOULD want to know something about the college.

If you got an interview on the first day does it mean you are ranked higher?

I don't think so. I know people with better qualifications than I did that went after my interview. And I think I had the second interview date last year. (I forgot how it feels to think of people in terms of rank and comparison to oneself...)

@LSUCPhT: Geez, posting one minute after me? Pay attention to Dr. Nutan! 😛

Good luck on your interviews today!

Thanks for replying, I was just wondering b/c med & dental schools give first interview dates for th emore qualified applicants.

I think previously in the thread there was a break down of the point system. Basically if you have an earlier interview you have no advantage over those that go on the last day was the interview counts 25 points (I think) in overall total. Therefore it is kind of a standardized score. So just rock the interview and the acceptance will come. Good luck everyone!!

I didn't feel like crying but my voice was very shaky at first and I got a little sweaty. I'm not sure if it was because there were 4 people in the small room but yeah the interview is very relaxed. I heard some people having an interview that was more conversational but mine was pretty job interview like. Everyone there is really nice so brutality was not an issue.

I highly doubt that we got the first round of interviewed because we were more "qualified." So no worries....we have no advantage. However, yall will have an advantage by having more time to prepare =P

Let me tell you that 20 minutes goes by fast for the essay. 30 minutes goes by fast for the interview. The whole interview went by very quickly.

Interview counts as 25 points so Dr. Robertson said that if you have some areas lacking on your application like GPA or PCAT, then the interview can really boost you. I'm sure my essay was super horrible so I hope my interview went a little better.

They usually ask "tell me about yourself" so be sure you have something to say about yourself. It is really the ice-breaker of the interview. That's how they get into really asking your interview questions. Just try to relax. I tried, didn't succeed at first. I tripped up a little bit because I was so nervous but I think that is normal plus I am naturally nervous hence my screen name haha. Everyone there is really nice and welcoming so don't feel like they are going to grill you.

This was my first interview so I'm not sure how other schools are but this one was awesome. The area is super rural and for most this will be a drastic change but something about Kingsville is charming. It isn't too far from Corpus either. I actually visited Corpus before I left the area.

Uhhh....I can't think of anything else about the interview. There really isn't a way to prepare for the essay so don't sweat it too much. Dr. Robertson said that there is no real right or wrong answer. They just want to know if you are able to use punctuation correctly and spelling/grammar. He will go more into detail about the grading before you write so no worries. Again, my essay sucked really bad just because I was so stressed. I'm sure yall won't be the same. Just make sure you put periods at the end of your sentences. Interview questions were pretty standard. Tell me about yourself, why pharmacy, why ILR COP, and etc.

Okay, I'm done. Good luck everyone!

If it's not too much trouble... can those who are invited to interview (congrats!! btw) please share their stats? I've checked pharmapplicants but it wasn't helpful. muchas gracias!

I just received an email with my updated credentials evaluation form, so I guess they are still reviewing my application. I hope this means there's still a ray of hope for an interview invite.

WOO! This means hope for all of us who don't have an invite yet!!! My credentials weren't verified as completed until after the Jan 15 cutoff date as well (although all materials were submitted on time).... So maybe they are still reviewing some applications due to this.

GOOD LUCK to those still anxiously waiting as well as those preparing for an interview!

Thanks NervousForSure for the head-ups. I'm sure you did better than you thought 🙂
Mehhhh, it's gonna be hard for me to write a well-composed and well-organized essay in 20 mins :/

I know it's probably been said before, but if you've interviewed already, please fill out the survey! http://www.studentdoctor.net/schools/survey/survey/34264

The one on the cards we passed out to you are for us to know where we can try to improve, but this one is for your peers interviewing as well!

I spoke to a few of you one on one today and y'all seem to have a fairly good impression of the school, and I'm sure the rest of the applicants would like to hear about it!

Just seeing y'all today took me back to my time interviewing here. 😀

Again, good luck, and I hope y'all make it in next semester!
