Texas A&M Class of 2018

- I remember maybe having one ethical question, but for the most part I felt like they wanted to get to know me and what I had to offer to the school. I guess it really depends on who your interviewers will be so definitely prepare for all types of questions just to be on the safe side.

- They never asked me for my resume but I did bring it along with me in a leather portfolio/folder just to be professional.

how long was the interview?

I'm trying to think of a good answer on "why did you choose this college"? Any students who already attend this college want to help explain what's great about this COP? Thanks!

I have an interview this Thursday, January 23rd at 2:30! I'm very excited but nervous. I know I shouldn't be, but alas, it is just in my nature to be jittery until I actually start talking. I know I had read on previous threads that there was also a 30 minute essay portion to the interview, does anyone know if that will be included again this year?

I believe the essay portion is still included for this year. It's nothing too hard. Just have to think fast on your feet since 30 minutes fly by really quick.

Good luck to those of you who have interviews tomorrow! Don't be nervous! 🙂

folks interviewing tomorrow, Goodluck to you all!!! Please come back here and tell us you killed the interview.

Greetings all! I had my interview 2 days ago and I thought I'd share my experience with my fellow interviewees! From the beginning, as soon as you walk in the building everyone was super nice, warm and welcoming. Like it's been stated in previous posts/threads, the interview was super laid back. Went into a room and was greeted by my 3 interviewers in a small office. One pharmacist, one professor, and one student. They basically just went down the line and each asked a question and kept repeating that order and asked as many questions that they could in 25 minutes. Nothing too brutal, pretty routine questions. I feel pretty confident about it. One question I have never been asked before that one of them did ask me was who was my hero. Then we saw a powerpoint with stats about the school and filled out a paper designating which campus you would prefer attending. No essay portion. Then ended with a Q & A with a P1, P2 and a P3 who were all super nice and they had a little presentation and gave us an idea of how the curriculum was for each year and gave us advice. They offered 300 interviews for a total of 102 spots. 87 at Kingsville and 35 for College Station. Overall it was a really great experience and I absolutely fell in love with the campus and everyone there. I had a wonderful time, met some cool people and I look forward to receiving that phone call with an admissions offer!! Good luck to the rest of you interviewing!

I'm glad you had a great experience! Exactly how I felt when I had my interview here a year ago. Kingsville is definitely a small town but it has everything you need. I hope you get the call!

Thank goodness for no essay portion! lol thank you for filling the rest of us in 🙂

I had my interview last week and to me it was very laid back and friendly. I had 2 interviewers 1 one assistant dean of Kingsville A&M and the other was a founding professor who has been teaching pharmacy for a long time. Both were very friendly and honestly I do not believe my interview could of went any better. Really hoping for my call in a few days :angelic:

Good Luck Everyone

The interview is nothing to be nervous about. Just know your facts and be confident. Just like others said, there is no essay this year. Your Personal Statement and PCAT essay will make up for the essay portion. They are very friendly over there. It's a beautiful campus as well. I signed up for Kingsville just because most of the teachers are based there and they said the first batch should hear as early as next Friday. Goodluck guys.

Is there a link for housing options or residence halls that pharmacy students usually live? Not interested in living that dorm-style undergrad life any longer.

During our Q&A with the P1's they said most pharmacy students live at javelina station. They mentioned that the apartment complex places pharmacy students in the same building away from the undergrads so it's much quieter. Apparently they have a website that allows out of town students to apply easily. The girls also said it fills up pretty quickly, so to make finding a place a big priority. Hope that helps 🙂

Im currently living at javelina station right now and I like it. It's probably the only place around here that is furnished so if you don't want to haul in a bunch of furniture this might be the place for you. I believe all pharmacy students get put in buildings 4-6. Some of my classmates have said building 4 can get kind of loud at times but for the most part 5 and 6 are pretty quiet.

These are other possible place that you might want to look into:
St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Hall
Apple Creek Apts
Barcelona Apts
Bordeaux Apts
Casa Del Ray Apts
Hawks Landing
Kingsman Apts
Arroyo Apts
Santa Gertrudis Apts
Colonial Arms Apts
Hunter's Cove Family Housing
Kingsville Pointe Apt

Alright thanks, thats the type of list I was looking for

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for them to notify you if you were accepted? I just had my interview today, and I think it went very well. Hopefully I hear positive news.

Has anyone who interviewed on Jan 30th heard anything back?

I dont think A&M has rolling admissions so they probably won't send out any offers until they have interviewed everyone they intended. February 13th is the last day for interviews so might not hear back until after that

My interview was January 23, and the question of when we'd here back was asked. We were told by around February 10-ish. I hope I hear back before the 14th - one less interview I have to go to if I get accepted (and 4 hours less driving).

They said we could possibly hear back today. Did anyone get the call?

Had my interview today, it was great and fast. I hope to hear back really soon!

Congrats everyone. Sorry I am later to this party than usual. I am a P4 currently at A&M. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me here or a PM! Best of Luck!

Odd question but since this is the first year they are offering a choice of the College Station campus will be be able to get student football and basketball tickets? A couple the other schools offer student season tickets for their sports and access to their recreational center/gym and I wonder if TAM was doing to same? I remember in Kingsville they said we were able to do it for the Kingsville campus but what about for the CS campus?

We are all actually part of big A&M now. There was a merger between TAMU and the Health Science Center. So, there is a possibility of getting tickets I believe. They offered us some tickets this season to smaller games (Rice/Sam Houston).

Did anyone happen to ask during their interviews, or were told when we would hear a response? I interviewed on the 1st day of interviews (Jan. 23), and someone asked this. We were told February 10-ish...however, I'm starting to think I may have misheard it from March 10, seeing as no one has heard anything and there is still another interview session this Thursday. I also hunted down the A&M thread from last year and people started getting calls/emails on March 5. Any clarification would be appreciated, thanks!

I was told at my interview on Feb 6 that they will review all applicants after the last session this Thu. And we will hear by the end of Feb.

During my interview on Feb 7th, they said we should hear anytime from last Friday. But I called yesterday and they said they might send out acceptance emails and calls this Friday.

very funny, very different. So A&M has a real diversity. Each interview session is provided its own information.

I thought I heard them say after Feb 13th or so but not sure when they actually send out acceptances. Hopefully it's not too much longer because I only have a week left to decide on OU and their deposit is $500.

I interviewed on Jan 31st. Here is what I remember them telling us. They will finish up interviews this thurs (13th). Once the interviews have concluded, they will begin to review applicant profiles and they will start sending out acceptance offers on valentine's day. However, if you do not receive an acceptance offer immediately it doesn't mean all is lost. based on the amount of responses they get and who accept the offer, they will continue to go down the list. People can receive acceptance offers as late as mid-July. TAMU is trying to stay ahead on their application process.

You still have a week??? I could've sworn I saw you on the OU thread and we received our invitations on the same day. I received the letter yesterday and it stated we have 7 days from the date of the letter to pay the letter...which would be tomorrow for me. I want to avoid paying the deposit like you as well. Hopefully, I can hear back Kingsville or UT VERY soon.

Wow, I'm really glad I read the post, I actually just got the letter yesterday too didn't bother opening it yet because I thought I had until this weekend due to the email last week by j-rich saying we had 10 days so I thought 16th or 17th, but the actual letter states 7 days from February 6th which is indeed tomorrow! I might just bite the bullet and pay the deposit, I really liked the school, just didn't like the near impossibility of being re-classed as resident.

If anyone gets an acceptance call, PLEASE let us know right away so we can start freaking out. Thanks 🙂
Looking at last years applicatns it seems like we probably won't hear anything till about next week 🙁 it took them about 10 days after the last interview to send out acceptance letters.

Of those of you that interviewed, which location did y'all choose and why? I chose college station 🙂

I was going to choose College Station because it was more of a college town and football but I ended up choosing Kingsville because I learn better with one on one interaction and the older students are all in Kingsville too. I just didn't buy the idea of watching videos while others can see the professor face to face and can talk to them after class.

does anybody know whether we could hear back today? I'm freaking out

Someone should call and ask lol 😛

I called this morning and they said it'll take them about a week or two to send acceptance calls.
