I have a lot of dental experience and I am also very involved on and off campus!

This is weird. Texas dental schools have been radio silent for the last two weeks. Does anyone know when they are going to send out more interviews?

They'll likely be interviewing less often, but deeper into the cycle. I'm expecting there to be a good amount of post-december interviews.

Hey everyone, I haven't heard back from admissions ever since I submitted my supplemental app. Has anyone heard anything recently?
I didn't get a confirmation email or anything after submitting the secondary, to answer your question. I got the email requesting my secondary application on 7/14 and then received my interview invite email on 8/21.

Pitchforks and fangs came out pretty quick lol.. I was being genuine in wondering if there's another reason for communication. Now go ahead and read my comment again without the moral superiority complex and listen to how it sounds.
freakazoids99, beside "application received!" and "hey we like you, wanna meet up?", I didn't receive any type of communication from all TX schools including after A&M secondary (even if there's is it is probably marketing to certificate program or summer research info, so not important). just make sure to add emails from school communications to your contact list so your spam filter knows these domains are safe ( I think that's how it works). Don't worry, you're not missing out on any communication!

All you will ever hear from a TX school:
1. Application received.
2. Congrats here’s an interview
3. Congratulations on being welcomed into the class of 202X or Unfortunately we are sorry to say we cannot offer you a seat in the class of 202X.

i was also wondering if anyone heard anything... obviously we are waiting for invitations... why are you being so rude? thats exactly what was implied. there is no room here for your type of comments...

This wasn’t rude, don’t let the stress of applications get to you. They have 1,500 applicants and will literally only notify you 2-3 times (see above). There are simply too many people for the admissions directors to send a “U up?”at 2 am.

Maybe it is a little stress, but mostly I think it is the reddit-shaped personalities devoided of the ability to tell the difference between genuine and sarcastic/skeptic. They don't see the best in people, they see the worst in people.

The stress of application process has gotten to all of us. Just relax and trust the process. We are all probably future classmates. I hope those who haven't heard anything hear good news soon and those who got interviewes get acceptance on Dec 15.

anyone know if they're done with sending out pre-dec invites?

Hey guys, I need some advice. I applied to Texas schools in October 24 and the application is transmitted to schools in October 30. I had covid 2 days before my scheduled DAT and due to that, I took the dat pretty late (November 20). The official score came out yesterday and it's lower than my expectations (aa 19, ts20, pat 23). I'm from Texas, sGPA is 3.95, shadowing over 100 hours, voluntering over 200 hours, and I have 2 BS degrees(one a foreign bs degree and the other is from UT). Do I have a chance this cycle? Or should I be ready for rejection and start preparing for the next cycle?
You definitely have a chance but you should start preparing regardless. Your AA is lower than your TS though - how did you do in QR and RC?

I think it will really boil down to how strong your essays are.

With those stats & Texas residency, you are almost guaranteed an offer...

I wish but there's much more to the application than just stats and residency. Every little not-so-great thing in my app is being amplified by my brain now as we get closer to 15th lol. Best of luck to you and everyone who worked very hard to get to where we are today!

If you don't get it, people like us have no chance. You are worried too much, just relax. Good luck on 15th...

There are plenty of people that get rejected with great stats. Admission committees do a holistic review.

I feel the same way... and also Dr. Miller told me that they'll be sending less acceptances on Dec. 15th since this cycle is going to be dragged out a bit longer.

does anyone know roughly how many people they interviewed pre-december this year?

As long as you didn’t show your power level at all the interviews you’re guaranteed to get into minimum 1/4 TX schools with those stats.

Getting an interview means that you have everything that it takes on paper to do great in the school. The interview is a chance for the school to evaluate if you're a real human being and not an academic robot. Be comfortable, be as relaxed as possible (which I know is tough), and use this as a time to demonstrate to the school that you have the human factor that they want in conjunction with your application.

Not too much longer now... this anticipation has me almost feeling sick.

2018 acceptances were at like 8am and last year they were at 4:30am. Really hoping they just send them at midnight tonight.
I woke up at 1pm today in preparation to be up all night tonight hoping and waiting for an email.

Believe me, I'd be doing the same if I didn't have work! We have lab inspections this week so I'm busy at work making sure we don't get cited for anything. At least it helps me keep my mind off decision day.

Yay!!! So happy for everybody! Congratulations to those who got the email, and good luck to those who are waiting - I know you'll hear back soon! 👍
