Does anyone find themselves constantly checking their email accounts multiple times a day to see if they received an interview email? I feel like a loser doing this especially when I see that this interview thread is bumped. False hope!!

Chaeymaey, I am a reapplicant and I have an interview at UT-H August 2nd...I am currently on their waitlist for this fall...I doubt I will get in this year, but heres hoping! Good luck!
Gr8 news! There had been rumors last year on sdn that they don't interview reapplicants, so I'm glad those are not true. I liked the school when I interviewed last year, so I hope I get some love this year.

I got a nice letter from the UTMB MD/PhD program today with lots of useful information and congratulating me on my MCAT score. Only problem is that I didn't apply MD/PhD

😕 Anyone else get that letter?

No - but I didn't have your stellar MCAT either! 🙂 :luck:

Kinda like waiting by the phone on a Sat night?? 😛 But maybe that was just me in high school. 🙂

And now I've bumped this thread TWICE with useless blabber and made everyone jump. I'm sorry!!! 😱

When you talked to Dr. Gunn, did he mention anything about interviewing reapplicants?

my bad, it was the assistant dean who I met with (I think he might be new). his name is Wallace Gleason.. we didn't really talk about reapplicants b/c he was basically asking us questions about ourselves and answering our questions about the school. good luck though!! 🙂

remember to check your junk mail folders if you're using online email services and awaiting email invites. Last year messages from UTH kept going into my spam folder, and I wouldn't have known about the interview had I not checked.

Just heard from UTSA. Got an interview on the 19th of August, which of course conflicts with another interview of mine. I'm thankful I've got interviews, but it is kind of depressing to watch them all get scheduled on the same day.

ME TOO!!!!!!

UTSA on August 14.

I'm a *****. I thought it was the 19th 😱

I need some caffeine.

See you dudes there. 👍 👍 👍 👍

Except I gotta call and move it.... so much for being smart and thinking having the baby in Aug would ensure I wouldn't have to worry about going into labor during an interview..... 🙂

John -
Are you sure it was the 19th? I called down at the office to try to get my date changed, and they told me interviews were every Monday. I'm wanting to go on the 21st, not the 14th, but they said they already sent letters out to the 21st people, so they have to see who confirms and whatnot. I hope this is the case....UTSW got to you first, haha 🙂

No I was wrong, it was the 14th... 4's and 9's look similar to me 😛 lol

UTSA interview on Aug. 14th too!!!!!!!

I will see you guys there on the 14th! I was so excited when I checked my email today!!!

Does anyone know anything about the Texas A&M curriculum? I have an interview there Aug. 10 and I have been checking their website and I can't find anything. I checked interview feedback but it is too bias. I heard that the last two years shifts from College Station to Temple. Anyone with knowledge can tell me about their curriculum?

Thanks

Wow! Congrats all! No love from UTSA for me 🙁

It seems like all the same people seem to get interviews first. Do you guys happen to have last names early in the alphabet or something?

At least they wouldn't have trouble remembering which interviewee you were... 😀

... and I HEARD FROM THEM TOO, for the 14th, and UTMB five minutes later for the 18th. Hrm, I think that's just widely-enough spaced that I'll end up flying to TX twice in the same week! Arg.
🙂 🙂 🙂

Sorry Jota that probably isn't it. I'm the letter P.... 😉

But... maybe it has to do with the time we sent it in??? 6/21 mine was sent out to the schools....

It couldn't be done by stats... I wouldn't have two interviews.

Must have been a big day for the med schools, UTMB for the Aug. 18 and A&M for the 5th all within an hour of one another!

Congrats everyone!

I too have UTHSCSA for August 14th...see you all there who will be there!

Congrats all on the UTHSCSA interview!! We have our last exam for this module on 8/7, so there should be alot of second years around to answer questions and eat lunch with y'all on the 14th 👍

For people with Texas A&M interviews, when are your interviews and are you guys out of state or in state?

Mine is Aug 10 and I am out of state.

Any recommendations for travel, such as using which airport (Houston, Dallas) and how to go from there to College Station?

Mine is August 17th...I am in state though...and changed the date from August 3rd...I would fly into Houston I think it is closer...

Definately fly into Houston. You can drive to College Station in an hour, maybe an hour and a half.

My sister is an undergrad there. I'm not exactly sure of the fastest route off hand, but I wouldn't use backroads if you're not used to it. I know one of the highways/interstates takes you there almost directly.

Thanks for the reply WannaDoc

Maybe I should rent a cab to drive me to College Station, despite it being expensive and all. I have driven a car in years and I don't see myself doing so now.

Anyone have their TCOM interview today? How'd it go??

This is random but I finally got some love from Galveston. It's on Aug 25 but I have my Dallas one on the 26th so I don't know how I'm going to manage...traffic on a Fri night, yuck.

Eww.... good luck! That would be a PIA drive without Friday night traffic! :luck:

There's airport in College station - usually fly through DFW/Houston Intercontinental. There are shuttles to different Hotels from there.

Plus, FYI there is a hotel on campus at the Memorial Student Center.

290 to Hwy 6 - Hwy 6 to College Station.

Congrats on the interviews everybody. Big day for the med schools.

Good point.... but then grunting with my feet in stirrups probably isn't a great impression (and how's THAT for a visual everyone else didn't want!?!?! :barf: )

  CONGRATS on the invites... two in one day - that's like Christmas and your B'day rolled into one! (or whichever politically correct holiday with presents you want to insert).

Southwest Airlines is your friend. 🙂

Anyone out of state and will be traveling to Houston and then College Station for Texas A&M interview? What airline did you use and how are you planning to travel?

Just want some advice for a person who will be traveling from the northeast to Texas Aug 10.

THANKS! 👍

Only American Airline and Continental fly into College Station. (that's the only advice I have - I'm from TX 😀 )

Hey Anastasis, thanks for your advice. Greatly appreciate it.

Do you know which airport in Houston I should use that would be closest to College Station because since the cost of flying to College Station is over $1000 per person, I plan to fly to Houston and then probably use car service.

I appreciate your advice. 🙂

Intercontinental is on the north side of Houston - from there to CS is about an hour to 1 1/2. Hobby can be cheaper but you're talking at least 2 hours to CS (but I'm guessing, never driven straight from Hobby to CS)

Sounds right.

Hey I had my TCOM interview yesterday...it went really well...was actually quite impressed by the school...it seemed less like an interview and more like a recruiting session...the people who interviewed me were really nice and the interview was quite easy...they all kept telling me that my application was really good...lunch was really good too (an added plus)

Thanks for the reply, Falco. I'm heading up to Fort Worth in about an hour... hopefully knowing this will make it a much less stressful 6+ hour drive. 🙂

UTH 8/4 UTMB 8/11 TAMU 8/17 and UTSW 9/16 have all sent me interviews in august, but UTH and UTMB are hard to reschedule, but UTSW and TAMU allow you to reschedule online. UTMB and UTH gave me the same date and i had to work with them to get the dates moved, Also i was processed 6/28/2006 with all my letters and scores in too.

Also does anyone know how Baylor does interviews I know it says September through Februrary on their website but i was just wondering if anyone has heard anything or knows from past experiences
