UTH 8/4 UTMB 8/11 TAMU 8/17 and UTSW 9/16 have all sent me interviews in august, but UTH and UTMB are hard to reschedule, but UTSW and TAMU allow you to reschedule online. UTMB and UTH gave me the same date and i had to work with them to get the dates moved, Also i was processed 6/28/2006 with all my letters and scores in too.

Also does anyone know how Baylor does interviews I know it says September through Februrary on their website but i was just wondering if anyone has heard anything or knows from past experiences

Nothing from Baylor so far that I've heard...
Did you talk to UTH about re-scheduling? Did they say anything about what upcoming dates they had? I don't know whether they'll ask me, but I'm trying to decide whether there are any steps I can take to combine my trips to Texas, in order to minimize the impact on my bank account.

hi i'm new to this- reapplying after getting apps in late last year and no interviews.

this year have san antonio and galveston interviews, 8/14 and 8/18.

problem is that i'm working full time for a year and don't know what to tell my employer to get time off for interviews... i'm not supposed to really take time off until i've been there 3 months, and i started in late june.

anyone else having to take off work? i may try to reschedule san antonio for the following monday, 8/21, but then the long weekend looks fishy if i'm playing sick from work...

I know man... I can't get hired if I tell them I need to go to interviews and if I don't they'll get pissed later. I think I'm not gonna try too hard to get a job until interviews are done so I can avoid the conflict. Think the medschools will compensate my lost wages...

BTW I know it may shock your employer, but people do get sick on mondays and fridays; so hopefully they wont harrass you until it becomes a pattern.

Are you a health care consultant (guessing that because of your SDN name)? I think I'm going to have the same problem, but in general strategy consulting myself. I think you should let them know as soon as possible that you absolutely must be out on those days (at least they can then manage your case load and plan around your absences, if you are in the consulting field). I don't start for a while and am hoping to have some interview dates in hand by then so I can let them know a week or so before joining that I have to be out. Best of luck!

Yes, about two days about the app was sent to TCOM, they sent and email with the user ID and instructions.

I had to ask them to reschedule but UTH is not very helpful so if you can try to the schools UTMB let me reschedule my conflict for the next week but i had to call back and have my boss who is a Health Professions Dean contact the director of TMDSAS and highlight the problem of students getting conflicting interviews, but see if they work with you, but UTH has so many interviews i figured they would be able to work with me more but that wasn't the case

Why would Karen have told you to reschedule your UTMB interview in December. I actually had to reschedule my interview with UTMB yesterday because it was scheduled the day before my UTSW interview. They were actually really nice and accomdating. I was able to reschedule it for Aug. 14. I am wondering if maybe you wouldn't be able to reschedule it again, seeing as how it might negatviely affect you if you interview so late.

I submitted around 6/26 and my app was verified and sent to the schools on 7/12

Yah, I haven't heard anything from other schools and my application was sent 7/5.

Had my TCOM interview today, though. 😀

No, I don't think so. At my UTH interview, Dr. Gunn totally downplayed LORs as if they weren't that important. I don't think you'd have to have them by the interview, but they probably need to have them before they give you an acceptance.

Forgot to ask a question. Do the LORs have to be received at UT-Houston before your interview?

I imagine if a school will extend an invitation without LORs, then the LORs are not required before the interview. If they do, they'll probably say so. It is also a bit unreasonable to expect such a thing with all the variables involved with LORs considering some school notify applicants of interviews just a couple weeks before hand.

In case that sounds like a silly question, I'm waiting until the very last minute to buy two separate round trip tickets from Boston -- to San Antonio on the 14th and to HOU for Galveston on the 18th. UTH hasn't shown any interest in me yet, but if they were to do so after I buy these tickets, I'll be... well... what can I be but grateful, right? I'll be gratefully impoverished. 🙄

Sorry, just got on here. I heard 7/27 in the afternoon (by e-mail) but you may want to call them because they will tell you if they have already decided to give you an interview adnd may let you pick the date. Worth a try, good luck.

Call them. I called today just to ask them if my application was complete and the guy told me I had an interview and would get info soon. May make you less anxious.

Honestly, I'm not sure. It says 7/12 on my status page at TMDSAS. I'm not sure if that's when they received the committee packet or when they mailed it out. Does anyone know? I really don't want to annoy the people at TMDSAS...

I called admissions at Tech to see if my packet of letters was there and they told me to call back in one week. The guy there said that they either don't have them or they're waiting to be indexed.

"Newly received supplemental materials are forwarded to the schools on a weekly basis – every Thursday. Therefore, your letter has already been sent to the schools and scanned into our online file management system.



Please let me know if you have any other questions."

The date on the status page is when they mailed out the packets. In my case, they sent out the packet on 7/5 and Texas Tech received it 7/13.

I'm beginning to get a little suspicious because the only thing I'm missing at TCOM is the committee packet. It might also explain why I haven't heard from A&M since they require LOR for interview. I really hope there wasn't an error.

Just wanted to let you know to stay on top of it because my letters were mailed from TMDSAS on 7/5 and A&M and TCOM both say they don't have them. I called TMDSAS about this and they said it was the schools' responsibility to contact them if they did not receive the letters. I am kind of at a stand still with them until they do... Not sure what else I can do... 🙁

It'll come! These things seem really random... you, Jota, and I all have different schools we have and haven't heard from, with no idea why. And I'm sure there are others, I just haven't been keeping track.
