watch for A&M student interview as well!
The social was alright. It wasn't very structured or anything, you kind of just sit and have to find people to talk to. So if you like that sort of thing, and you have questions to ask, it would be helpful.
At San Antonio, one thing to be careful with is that med students DO actually do a lot of the interviews. And the students at the social and the students who are giving you the tour could very well be the ones who interview you. It happened to two girls in my tour group (our tour guide ended up interviewing both of them). Now that can be good or bad, just keep it in mind.
I'd be pretty fired up by a San Antonio interview right about now. SW, Houston, and UTMB are reaches for me but I'd like my chances at TCOM, A&M, and SA. Anyone of those schools would be great. You folks with the freaky stats go ahead and commit to Baylor and SW. 😉
Yup, I'll second that! To be honest, I put Houston first last year but I'm starting to have second thoughts about UTHSCSA...gosh, I love it there! 😍 So please feel free to take ALL those Baylor/SW offers! 😉
you'd have to beat me first!i wish the object of this game was to have the least number of interviews, then i would be winning with a fat zero!!!
please let me get an invite next week!!!!!!!![]()
Hook'em...with your numbers I think you're sitting pretty right about now. Just leave some for us.
Sup guys, I've been lurking for a while, decided to post my deal. I've just finished my 2nd year of undergrad at one of the wonderful UT satellite schools, and am applying this cycle.
Wow, so you're applying this cycle before finishing your undergrad? May I ask why? I'm just curious...I mean, college was the best experience of my life (all 4.5 years) and I wouldn't have given it up for anything, even if it meant starting med school earlier.
so i sent an update for my tmdsas application for where i am working now, and they added it into my application. however they put typos and didnt capitalize my PI's name. 👎
do you think i should have them correct it, or not bother waiting two weeks for this? i guess i will call them tomorrow..
dammit san antonio invite me already
they are the only school in my top 5 that haven't yet...argh
Has anyone who applied normally (not disadvantaged) and was processed on 6/20 gotten an invitation to interview at UTHSCSA?
Waaaaaahhhh!Just kidding...love to be in your shoes.
Why aren't there any invites for people who were processed on 6/20 from UTHSCSA? ARRGGG!!
Does A&M not cover the cost of parking in their lot? I know its $2 per hour which to some doesn't seem like a lot, but this whole process has been very expensive and I'm just wondering why they wont let interviewees park for free (like every other school).
Also, I heard from a recent interviewee that A&M does provide transportation to Temple for the 2nd interview but then in A&M's letter it says they don't. So what's the deal with that? I'm hoping they do because that would be super nice and less stressful.
. . and please, no one take offense to this post. I am complaining but I am still very thankful to have received an interview invite.
Hey Friends,
I just wanted your thoughts on whether it is time to start panicking yet. I have received 1 interview at A&M (and am grateful for the same), but have not heard anything since for about 3 1/2 weeks. I have a 3.74 with a 28P (and reasonably solid ECs). Thanks, and any opinions are much appreciated. Good luck!!!
Hey, I have similar stats, except with a 30Q. I still haven't heard from A&M, Tech or SW. I don't know what is going on. When did you submit your secondaries to the other schools and your overall app?
I know you guys are stat hungry about now...so here's a repost from a few months ago: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=7780&d=1172674351
The waitlist season may have brought some of the final numbers down a bit...here we ended up at 29/3.78. I think last year's tmdsas stats were 4083 apps and ~2200 interviews. For those of you with competitive stats but no ints...be patient. The season isn't that old, and considering the ratio of apps submitted and still coming in to the # of open int slots (which probably doesn't vary too much throughout the season), the avg stats for ints I'm guessing will fall over time...wouldn't be surprised if it does so more steeply than last time. Chill.
Doesn't that PDF have a typo where UTSW offered 401 spots last year? 265 seems like a pretty low number.
so lemme get this straight...the only ppl on this forum who have rec'd baylor interview invites got them on 8/9. there hasnt been another wave of invites yet? im really really hoping for a miracle here with getting a baylor invite cuz my premed advisor has STILL not sent out my letters yet!!!
