I don't think we really know....some people were suggesting that they sent out letters to people that they didn't rank for TMDSAS.

Not necessarily. It just means that you weren't accepted at TAMU.

No. If you ranked them lower and still were accepted you wouldn't get a letter. I think a lack of a letter probably means you were on the list, but you might be on a list for a school you ranked higher.

I know people in years passed who got in say their first choice and then learn later that they were on the acceptance list for a lower ranked school. For example, Texas Tech (in years past) has sent out surveys asking people who ranked them lower but were on their acceptance list, why they didn't rank Texas Tech higher. So if you were on the acceptance list you wouldn't get a letter...that's my two cents...but don't worry (I didn't even get an interview at TAMU 😉 )

It means you have not been rejected from TAMU and were probably on their TMDSAS list. It does not indicate if you matched at a higher ranked school though.

Sorry man, I misunderstood.

What has been hypothesized is that if you did not get a letter then you are on TAMU's list. You might have matched at a higher school and so been withdrawn at TAMU or you might have matched at TAMU or you might have been so far down their list that you're part of their "wait list".

Either way, not getting a letter has a) no determination over matching to a school before them and b) is nothing but a good thing. At least that is the theory.

I like the TAMU theory....and I have not received a rejection letter (interviewed in early August) from them. However, it seems that there are too many people who did not receive rejection letters. TAMU's class size is only about 80 people. I don't know how many people they put on their match list, but it couldn't be THAT MANY. Does this make sense?
