Wow, 170 posts I just read since checking at lunch today.

I have not check the TMDSAS site yet. I did have to read that new TTU match page. They'll probably post results tomorrow morning??? Maybe you web master types know how to make a page available at a given time?

I am definitely going to be up - couldn't sleep knowing it was about to be posted anyway. I have talked to some people who are able to remain unbelievably calm about this, and claim they will just check it sometime tomorrow - WHEN THEY THINK ABOUT IT! I cant fathom it!

I'll be up until at least 1 am EST. I guess that's the attitude you can take if you have acceptances at Baylor or out of state schools. I kinda wish I had applied to a few schools outside of TX just so that I might have heard something by now. There are quite a few people out there that applied to 20+ schools that are astounded when I tell them I only applied to 8.

IBM T42's are some of the best laptops you can get. Pretty lightweight and very long battery life. They aren't "pretty" like toshiba's or sony's, but they have the best constuction. If you twist the case of a crappily built system like Dell, you will hear the plastic creak. A well-built system will not creak when you press down on the wrist pads. Only downside is that they are pricey.

Anyone interested in ibm laptop pm me and I can try to get you employee discount. Though I don't know exactly how much it will save you.

I have one of those "creaky" Dell Inspiron 8200's. It has been fairly reliable but dealing with tech support has been a bear when required on two occaisons. Work owns this two year old 8200, so it'll go home to roost.

I'm thinking toshiba, sony, or compaq. They have much better deals than current dell offerings.

Just a recommendation, Dell has some nice offers, but you need to steer clear of the home user store on their site. Their small business area has a lot better deals, and you can get Latitude laptops. Latitudes use a lot less proprietary equipment, and in my opinion, they're more solid, and resistant to damage.

I run a computer business, so I am working with these things all the time. I have a Latitude D600 that I got in Nov 03 that works great! You can always PM me if you want to get some of the deals that I can get. Sometimes they throw rebates and stuff at me, but I dont have the money to be buying all the time. 😀

Still deliberating on waiting up or trying to go to bed to check in the am. Waking up at 530am is no damn joke! (plus those out of state acceptances take a HUGE load off......don't front...you know I got you open)

I have a Toshiba laptop. It's awesome and I'd highly recommend it. I eventually want to go back to Mac but one school (UTH) says their system is not Mac compatibile and has a lot of minimum requirements for a computer, just something you may want to check before purchasing something

BOOOO UT-H is hatin on the player.....don't hate the player UT-H...hate the game

By the way....gf has creaking dell 8200(which is still a beast but gets very hot and the battery life is eh)....I have a very old latitude that is still pretty sweet, but I would highly recommend the sony's. I have had a number of friends that have had iterations of them over the years and I have heard no complaints. Although, back when I was in college, from what I understand Fujitsu was the **** for laptops, but I am not sure if they are still dope.

Well from what I heard, a few people at Texas Tech found out last year as early as 9pm CST. And I waited until 1am!! Well I was on the east coast. Oh well.

Also wanted to add that last RCW changed to 1/31/05 today as well. It sat at 8/09/05 forever!! but that is when they last rec'd anything from me. I graduated may 04.
